Gantt chart

A Gantt chart, commonly used in project management, is one

of the most popular and useful ways of showing activities (tasks or
events) displayed against time. On the left of the chart is a list of the
activities and along the top is a suitable time scale. Each activity is
represented by a bar; the position and length of the bar reflects the
start date, duration and end date of the activity.] 1]
Allows us to see:
What are the advantages of a Gantt chart?
There are various advantages of a Gantt chart which made it so
popular among all project people. The advantages of the Gantt
chart are:

 Time frame is bound and time is made explicit and linear.

 All the tasks are visible in relationship to others and tasks
are evenly distributed among employees.
 Deadlines are easily visible. Project status at intermediate
times is always displayed properly.
 You can see progress by “filling in” task boxes[1]

The right steps to develop a project schedule

Depending on the complexity and length of the project, the

project management schedule can range from a simple task list to
a complex network of interconnected tasks.

However, there are concrete steps we can take to establish a

robust project timeline and ensure that all aspects of your project
are planned and properly taken into account.

The first step: we take notes

First, we will define what we should do.

The best way to prepare a project schedule is to engage the team.

We can start from the list with everything you know must be
included (like all broader project management activities such as
risk management meetings and key reporting dates),.

We make sure to take into account the full duration of the project
while preparing the schedule, and give all tasks the time it takes
for Al Maha to avoid getting projects off the right track.

While doing this, we also estimate the resources these tasks will
require, to help properly schedule your appointments.

Step 2: Create a correct task arrangement

One of the main things when working on a project management

schedule is the order of execution of tasks.

There is more about adding tasks to people in Step Five below,

but here we need to work on managing linkages between tasks
appropriately.

The third step: identifying some important priorities and periods

of the project
A project turning point is a specific time point that indicates the
completion of something or another important moment in the
plan. For example, the end of the stage, the beginning of product
construction, or the date the plant becomes available to start
manufacturing.

We put these markers on the project schedule in the right places,

and we link them to related tasks.

We will need to identify these points regularly in the timeline as

they will help us determine if you are still on target to complete all
work on time.

Key stages are a great way to make project scheduling less

difficult.

Step Four: Calculate the timescale

Once we have a list of tasks associated with the tags identified, we

can add any fixed dates. For example, many project management
apps will automatically schedule our project to start today, but we
may plan some actions that won't start for a few months.

So we review the dates and make sure they are all as you expect.
We can adjust them manually or add any additional dates as
needed.

This is also the point to review the time each task will take. So it
will generally require us to set the task duration to anything
default, which may be less than one day. We make sure that each
task continues for the correct amount of time.

The fifth step: assigning people to tasks

First we have to add the details of the people who do the work.

Step Six: Review regularly

It is impossible to create the ideal project schedule from the first

attempt. The schedule will also change as the project evolves,
especially if we make adjustments to the project scope. We do an
official review at least once a month.] 2]

Abstract
Gantt charts are commonly used for tracking project schedules,
and they are especially useful in project management. To put it
simply, it illustrate and allow to know what needs to be done, and
when it needs to be done. Gantt charts are also able to show
additional information regarding the different tasks or sections of
a project, such as how far have tasks progresses, how a group of
tasks might depend or other groups of tasks, how important
several tasks are, and resources are being used within a project.
