Required Oil Cleanliness
The required oil cleanliness is determined by other influencing variables as well as the
operating pressure:
If one of these aspects is especially important, the required oil cleanliness should be
improved by one class.
If two or more criteria's apply, the required oil cleanliness must be upgraded by two classes.

Required ARGO-HYTOS Filter Fineness
Continuous evaluation of oil samples for several decades has shown which level of oil
cleanliness can be achieved under specified system conditions.
For full flow filtration under the least favourable conditions, cleanliness levels to ISO
4406:1999 that can be achieved with ARGO-HYTOS filter finenesses are as follows:
