Statement of the Problem

This study endeavored to find answers to the following problems:

1. Profile

1.1. Teachers as implementers

1.2. Students as recipients

2. What benefits can be taken from the Remedial and Enrichment

Program?

3. What difficulties are encountered in implementing the Remedial

and Enrichment Program?

4. What are the suggestions to improve the Remedial and

Enrichment Program?

Scope and Limitation

This study is conducted at the National Teachers College, Quiapo,

Manila. The respondents are limited to the chosen high school students

and English Remedial and Enrichment Program instructors of the said

school. The focus of the study is prior to the process on how the

program is structured and implemented and as to how the respondents

conduct the Remedial and Enrichment Program.


Data Gathering Instrument

There are two separate instruments used in the conduct of the study

which are: an interview for the teachers (implementers) and checklist

for the students (recipients).

To validate the data and information gathered through interview, the

teachers are asked questions regarding features of the Remedial and

Enrichment Program such as its benefits, difficulties and suggestions to

improve it.

To gather data and information from the students, the researchers made

use of a checklist. The checklist is consisting of three parts. Part I

gathered data about the benefits of Remedial and Enrichment Program

to the students. Part II is consist of the difficulties the students have

encountered in the program and Part III attain to know the suggestions

on how the program can be improved.
