WRIT 1500

Spring 2019
Group Conference Presentation

Working together and finding

commonalities across issues and identities
has always been essential to feminism and
liberation movements around the globe.
Social media has made it so that people do
not even have to be in the same room to
organize. Also, within the academy
conference panels and conversation play
influential roles in knowledge creation. For
your last assignment, you will be using the
skills you have practiced this semester to
make connections with your group members’
projects and to present your work to the rest of the class. You will have time during class and
you will need to meet outside of class in order to work on this assignment. I will be evaluating
the group for clarity of arguments and creativity. Your projects should be clear but it should
also be conversational.

The assignment:
• Work with your group members (3- 4 members) to create a larger 15-20-minute
multimedia conference style presentation
• Each member must present their argument
• The group must also present connections between the topics and how this work informs
the group’s understanding of the ongoing feminist movement
• Create three discussion questions and moderate discussion
• Each group member must individually turn in a one-page reflection discussing the
rhetorical choice made in the group presentation on the day of the presentation

Presentations will take place Tuesday, April 30th and Thursday, May 2nd. Your one-page
reflections are due on the same day that your group presents.
