Query:
How to configure the ethernet interface from SPEED7 CPUs using the Simatic
Manager from Siemens ( NetPro)

The SPEED7 CPUs hasn’t factory-made an IP address at the(ir) CP(s) interface(s),

to apply for an IP address you have to make a hardware configuration:

1. Select the CPU 318 from Siemens ( 6ES7 318-2AJ00-0AB0, V3, s. pic. )

2. Select the CP 343-1 ( 6GK 343-1EX11-0EX0, s. pic. ), this “virtual” CP build

up the standard integrated Ethernet interface ( with 2 PG channels). The slot
for this CP must always be the “last one” after the real existing modules
( or before last in case of further Ethernet CPs, see point 7). In this example
existing modules are 1 x DI 16 and 1 x DO 16.

3. At the new window Propierties Ethernet interface CP 343-1 you can fix the IP
and the subnet mask addresses, then click new for networking

4. Here you can give a name to your subnet and make some comments, click ok (
two times)

5. Now your configuration is done and you can save and translate and down
load it to the CPU.

6. Ignore this warning, click ok. … End, now you could programming through the
Ethernet and/or link your PLC to a SCADA using the PG communication.

7. In case you have further Ethernet CPs ( like by the 315NET and 317NET
CPUs from SPEED7) repeat the steps from 2 up to 6, now a second CP card
is integrated which partially support the functionality of a CP 343-1 from
Siemens

Note: in the picture the CP 343-1 is

the CP for the 2 PG channels
connexion, the CP 343-1(1) is the
CP for the Ethernet connexion (
currently: ISO on TCP or UDP)

8. Now you could be able with NetPro to release your network project ( or…
programming through the Ethernet and/or link your PLC to a SCADA using the
PG communication )
