Webinar on 10th June 2020

“Career Avenues in Law: In India and Cross Borders”

PRESS NOTE

This is an age of Information and Knowledge and the right information leads to
correct decision -making. When one stands on the cross roads in one’s career life,
informed career choice lends direction to shape and mould the career in the right
way.

With a view to guide the students in their academic decisions Faculty of Law, The
Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda organized a Webinar on “Career
Avenues in Law: In India and Cross Borders (For 12 th Standard students and
Graduates)” on 10th June 2020 at 5:30 pm

The distinguished speakers were welcomed by Prof. (Dr.) Bhavna Mehta, Dean
(OSD), Faculty of Law, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.

The Webinar began with a short film of the University. The first panelist Ms.
Janani Iyer – Head(Legal) VJTF Eduservices Limited and one of the alumni of the
Faculty of Law shared her views on services offered by law firms with their
monetary benefits as well as benefits in terms of shaping one's personality. She
emphasized on major success factors like ability, affability and availability apart
from the skills to be acquired as a legal professional.

The second speaker Ms. Krutika Sharma- Legal Assistant Madison Law Firm,
Minneapolis, USA and alumnus of the Faculty, talked in detail about the career
opportunities in law in the countries like India, UK, USA, Canada and Singapore
as well. She also expressed her personal experiences at the Faculty of Law and the
vital role played by the university in building her career.

The enrollment procedure, curriculum and on field activities by students of faculty


of Law was shared by Dr. Ketan Desai –Assistant Professor at Faculty of Law, The
Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
The question answer session focused on entrance exam internationally, how can
students work in Canada, difference between BBA-LLB and BA-LLB, year in
which students have to take internship and time duration of internship?

We received 169 registrations from across the globe. Around 295 participants
viewed and attended the Webinar through Google Meet and Facebook Live.

The entire event was successfully convened by Dr. Archana Gadekar-Associate


Professor at the Faculty of Law and Dr. Kavita Goel- with the support of young
faculty members’ team under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Bhavna Mehta.
