International exchange programs: advantages vs disadvantages

Nowadays, foreign student exchange programs are common among universities. Some consider this to
have benefits to adolescents while others present an opposing view. Through this essay, I would present
some advantages and disadvantages to this context.

On the pros, with visits of this kind, teenagers get to learn about other countries are developing in
various aspects. They get to know about the history of those countries, how people and society have
changed. Also, development in technology and how these technological advancements are useful in the
current affairs could be learned, by these kinds of educational exchange programs. Likewise, teenagers
looking for a career abroad are also benefited from these types of exchange visits.

On the other side of the coin, however, these visits can pose a lot of disadvantages to both the teen and
the state. Teens are the ones who are more vulnerable to many of today's pressing problems like drug
abuse, prostitution, robberies, and so on. When students are moved to a more liberal country than their
own, they are easily attracted to these misconducts. Despite learning better things, they might fall to a
bad companion, thereby, posing danger to himself and both the nations.

To recapitulate, when international exchange visits among students are strictly and closely monitored
and supervised, they always do good to both the student and the country.
