Spectroscopy and Chemometrics

• High-performance liquid • In the article they use infrared
chromatografy (HPLC) spectrometry
• Gas chromatography (GC)
• Colorimetric reactions
• Saponification value
• UV spectrometry
Experiment
Hazelnut oil

• The olive- oil spectrum lies at the center, and te othe samples of adulterated olive
oil spreads out in the three-dimensional space.
• The closeness of the group to the olive-oil sample indicates the closeness of the
composition of the pure olive oil and the adulterant.
Conclusion
• It is posible to classfiy and quantify adulterants in olive oil samples.
• To identify an adulterant not known is a difficult task, so it could be
use a gas-chromatographic technique.
