Subject: Statistics and Probability

Subject Description: This subject introduces the students to the Mathematics of chance that includes counting techniques, probability distributions and mathematical expectations. It
exemplifies the usefulness of Mathematics in decision making. The use of graphing calculator and algebra systems is highly encouraged.
Subject Objectives: At the end of school year, the students are expected to:
1. Provide the basic concepts and fundamental skills in probability
2. Develop appreciation of the widening capability of Mathematics in everyday life;
3. Use the Mathematical principles and theories in proving statements/results and in solving concrete problems
4. Equip with mathematical facts, laws and procedures and perform fundamental operations and process with increasing skills and accuracy.
5. Emphasize the importance of probability in real life situation
6. Develop firm foundation of knowledge to this subject in preparation to statistical analysis
