Reference Signal (RS): This signal is similar to pilot signal in CDMA technology. It is always transmitted
by LTE eNodeB, and is used by mobile to rank different LTE sectors according to signal strength.
Physical Broadcast Channel (PBCH): This signal transmits a limited number of the most frequently
transmitted parameters essential for initial access to the cell.
Synchronization Signal (SS): Primary (P-SS) and Secondary (S-SS) synchronization signals enable
time and frequency synchronization between eNodeB and UE.
Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH): This signal carries information about UE resource
assignment and other control information.
Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH): This signal is the main data bearing downlink channel in
LTE. It is shared among all users, but it also carries paging messages as well as some broadcast system
information not carried on PBCH signal.
Tx_RE_dlrs: Transmit power per resource element for downlink reference signal (RS) given in dBm.
(Default is 0 dBm.)
Tx_RE_Offset_pbch: Transmit power offset for physical broadcast channel (PBCH) relative to
TX_RE_dlrs given in dB.
(Default is 0 dB.)
Tx_RE_Offset_ss: Transmit power offset for primary synchronization channel (P-SCH) and secondary
synchronization channel (S-SCH) relative to Tx_RE_dlrs given in dB.
(Default is 0 dB.)
Tx_RE_Offset_pdcch: Transmit power offset for Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) relative to
Tx_RE_dlrs.
(Default is 0 dB.)
Tx_RE_Offset_pdsch: Transmit power offset for Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) relative to
Tx_RE_dlrs.
(Default is 0 dB.)
The above power settings are not independent of each other. The following sets of power checks must be
satisfied otherwise a warning message is displayed, and transmit power levels will need to be re-entered.
Num. OFDM for PDCCH: Number (1, 2, 3) of OFDM symbols reserved for PDCCH in the first slot of the
subframe.
In the above example, Num. OFDM for PDCCH is set to 1.
NOTE
These settings can be redefined when you add a system using LTE technology.
3. When the Apply these default values to all sources of all systems check mark is selected, all the
power values in the existing systems are replaced with these values, and these values also become
default values for future systems.
When this check mark is cleared, these values become default values for future systems only; the existing
From these examples, it is possible to compute Power per RE (Tx_RE_dlrs) levels for other maximum system
power levels.
