SYSTEMICALLY MANNER THAT WILL MAKE WORK EASIER AND FAST
threadless could enhance its co-creation strategy by providing loyalty points to all the customers
who are sharing their ideas at the submitting stage. These points they can redeem while making
a purchase for any t-shirt from Threadless. Also, as the T-Shirt’s represent great many causes,
company can advertise that certain profit will go for environment or animal protection. This will
create a goodwill among customers for today’s time and age, everyone specially youngsters
wants to associate with a strong motive.

3 Marketing Tactics can be considered:

1. PRODUCT

- Focus on the quality together with distinctive features of shirts at a competitive price. To do this
the company has to achieve a suitable economy of scale, which means producing in large
quantities of standard plain shirts to achieve competitive market price but maintaining the quality
of garment production and offer various printing logos on the shirts.

- The company should promote more the community contributions (users’ submissions) as the
initial stage of its business to re-build its “for community” characteristics. However, it should
increase the acceptance rate of the submissions which means there would be more shirt choices
in its platform.

2. PRICE

Based on the product tactic ideas, the company can offer the standard price of the plain T-shirt
(without a printed logo on the top). And then the customer can choose different logo designs to
print the top. The price of the printing is up to the ordered quantity by customers.

For example:

Plain T-shirt: 10$/item

Printing: 5 logo design available like A, B, C, D, E, F to choose from

If there are 20 orders for logo A, the price is 10 $/ printing

If 50 orders, the price is 5 $/ printing

In the end, the company can offer competitive prices (as users can see how the price changes
among the small and large quantity of orders, as well as control the production of the qualified
garment and allow more community designs to appear on the Threadless offerings.

3. PROMOTION

It is important that the company actively promote its brand and the co-creation concept in many
social networks to attract customers.

There 2 types of audience the company need to promote communications:

Firstly, they are the consumers who may not submit the design but have the power to rate and
choose their favorite shirts from other artists. The communication is to engage more active users’
participation in the voting process. A reward for voting can be considered. For example, if the
logo design voted by a user is among the top 10 chosen to be printed on the standard plain shirt,
the user can have a discount to buy the product the vote.

According to Racked, the initial audience of the Threadless has still appreciated the company's
previous legend and the quality of the products. The company must keep communication with
this community. However, the company should outsource suitable designs for this “older
generation” compared to Gen Z and focus on the product quality as discussed on the Product
tactics.

The designer community: Promoting not only professional but also amateur designers to
participate in the co-creation process. Setting up a strong artist consultancy team to support the
designers in the early stage of the design proposal, in which the company suggests the standard
plain shirts to the artist community and crowd-source for the logo ideas on top. The company will
function as a bridge to collect community comments for an idea proposal and then collaborate
with the artists to adjust the design to fit with customers’ tastes. This prevents the waste of efforts
from the artists when they spend their whole time designing the shirt but then being rejected.
This also helps reduce the efforts and cost of Threadless to select only some designs from a
large pool of submissions.

2. Would the outcome have been different if Panera was selling a digital product?

.This has been a difficult year for many fast-casual chains, as competition led to concerns about
oversaturation, forcing some companies to slow development and others to close units. Not so
Panera Bread, which has apparently thrived since its $7.5 billion sale to the investment firm JAB
Holdings. In a letter to employees, now-former CEO Ron Shaich—who ceded control of the chain
to Company President Blaine Hurst on Jan. 1—detailed a chain that used a strong digital
presence to improve sales last year. Shaich said Panera’s same-store sales for the year
increased 6% at company locations. That number would easily outdistance most other fast-
casual chains, at least the publicly traded concepts.

I picked 3 warehouse for delivering the product to the given 10 customers. The selection of 3
warehouse considers all the factors like cost, productivity, quality and the customer satisfaction. I
think to deliver the Alexa TV remote to all the 10 customers, 3 warehouse is more than enough.
The location of the three warehouses selected to deliver the Alexa TV remote is as follows:
24208 San Michele Rd, Moreno Valley, CA 92551, 2020 Joe B Jackson Pkwy, Murfreesboro, TN
37127, 500 McCarthy Dr, Lewisberry, PA 17339. 1) The reason for the selection of the 1st
warehouse is because the number of warehouses in CA is more. This shows that the
warehouses in the CA handles more number of product regularly and the products can be
delivered to the other location in an easy manner. 2) The 2nd and 3rd warehouse is selected at
that location as it can handle the Alexa TV remote to 4 to 5 different customers with minimum
cost and distance to be covered is also less.

As of now the logistics network that is created here will be an efficient one in delivering the Alexa
TV remote to the customers given in the list. The location of warehouse 2 and 3 is capable of
delivering the product to more than 1 customer at a time. this makes the number of warehouse to
reduce in number and saves a lot of cost in constructing a new warehouse in some location to
deliver the product to a specific customer. This leads to the increase in the cost of the company.
The time taken to deliver a product to the customer is also less compared to other network. the
delivery distance of each warehouse location to the customer point is less than 1000 miles.

I have picked 3 warehouses to delver my product. I think that i have to cover 10 locations and i
just entering to the new market. So i need to think about the probability of profit or loss.I don't
want to spend lot of cash at the beginning because the market may vary time-to-time.I can send
my product to all the location within 2 days without any struggle. So i think it's the best option for
my business.I can expand the network when the customers increases. And am also consider
about the safety stock, if i'm opt more warehouses i need to increase the safety stock too.It will
be more difficult to me that without knowing the moving of product in the market and carry more
stock. And the warehouses i selected has the rating minimum 4/5. Customer satisfaction has a
vital role in every business. So i won't compromise in the case of quality of products and the
delivery. I choose Amazon ABE2 Warehouse for delivering product to 4 destinations New York
,Boston,Philadelphia and Washington. It's the best warehouse to send product to the four
destinations and send products to Chicago too. The delivery time is take up to less than 2 days.
And the advantage is send the goods to maximum of 5 locations. And the 2nd warehouse is
CHA1 - Amazon Fulfillment Center Tours. It can send the products to 3 locations
Atlanta,Chicago,Miami. It's the best warehouse to send the products to the locations. And 3rd
warehouse is Amazon Fulfillment Center DFW8 . this will help me to deliver Los Angeles,Dallas
and Houstan. Los Angeles is little far from the warehouse. But starting another warehouse for
one location will cost high.So this is the best option to choose.

In General, I try to pick these locations because these are the closest location to most populous
cities with minimum MPD (Mile per Delivery) on somewhere between 300-400 miles. So I can
deliver my products to the market every day. Here are my Warehouses locations: 1. Los
Angeles: Los Angeles WH will be responsible to cover LA, Riverside, Bakersfield, San Jose, San
Fransisco, and San Diego. All of the total population is around 7,9 million people. 2. Phoenix:
Phoenix WH will be responsible to cover Phoenix, Tucson, and Las Vegas. All of the total
population is around 2,7 million people 3. San Antonio: San Antonio WH will be responsible to
cover SA, Dallas, Austin, Houston, and Fort Worth. The total population combined is 6,8 million
people. 4. Tampa: Tampa WH will be responsible to cover Tampa, Miami, Orlando, and
Jacksonville. The total combined population is 2 million people 5. Atlanta: Atlanta WH will be
responsible to cover Atlanta, Charlotte, Charleston, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Birmingham, and
Montgomery. The total combined population is 2,9 million people 6. Louisville: Louisville WH will
be responsible to cover Louisville, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Lexington, Colombus, St. Louis, and
Nashville. The total combined population is 3,8 million people. 7. Chicago: Chicago WH will be
responsible to cover Chicago and Milwaukee with the total combined population of 3,3 million
people. 8. Scranton: Scranton WH will be responsible to cover the most major and populated city
which is New York also covering Philadelphia, Boston, Baltimore, and Washington Maryland. The
total combined population is 11,1 million people. So a total of these 8 warehouses will cover
somewhere around 40 million people.

How does the total transit time compare to the network you built?

PROMPT

Please justify why your logistics network is the best you can make it for now and the forseeable
future. Be sure to talk about what the expectations of your customers will be; what the current
economic environment looks like; and, where you expect interest rates and fuel prices to go in
the future.

Why your logistics network is the best you can make it for now and the foreseeable future? Since
I want my product to be the most consumed in the US, I have to make sure that they are always
available in the market. The total of 8 Warehouse covering major cities. They are responsible for
supplying the market where 42 million people shop. What the expectations of your customers will
be. Here’s the background, people need food, and sometimes preparing food can be time-
consuming and pricy. So I give them an alternative of fast, instant, fulfilling yet very cheap. With
constant promotions I expect the customers to go to the introduction and trial phase around 6
months. After that I am confident that they will start to regularly consume my product, I expect
them to consumed at least 5pack/month/person. What the current economic environment looks
like? With the current economic condition (even in a pandemic), food is the main priority for all.
Instant Food as an emergency food will also be in very high demand. Where do you expect
interest rates and fuel prices to go in the future? Interest rates and fuel prices drop for now
because of this pandemic, so it is a good chance to start. But it will rise again along with the
condition start to go back to normal. Once these 2 factors reach the normal amount my product
will already be on a high consumed rate, so it will not be a problem because all the cost will be
divided by sales volume. 5packs/months x 42,000,000 people = 210,000,000 packs per month. It
is very safe.

1. It is surprising how wholesome this assignment is, which is good, I have to think about
everything, Warehouse locations, products backgrounds, Miles per delivery, everything. 2. The
most difficult part is to go through the process of deciding where should I select the warehouse
locations. 3. All of this was fun, the map drawing is fun, the research to decide the warehouse
locations is also fun.
