    The Punjab government issued a notification on July 11, 2006 that exempts all residential units with a plot area of 5 marlas (125 square yards) or less located within municipal corporation limits in Punjab from paying water supply and sewerage charges. This partial modification of a previous notification from May 2003 also waives any outstanding arrears on water supply and sewerage charges for these residential units, effective from June 26, 2006.     IN exercise of the powers conferred under section 157 of the Punjab municipal

    Corporation act 1976 (act no .42 of 1976) read along with section 19 of the Punjab

    General clauses act ,1898 and all other power enabling him in this behalf ,in partial

    Modification of notification of notification no.2/2/2003-3Lgiv/6510,dated 2nd may 2003,

    The Governor of Punjab is pleased to exempt with effect from 26.6.2006 all residential

    Units having plot area unto 5 Marla (125 sq yards), situated within the limits of

    Municipal Corporation, in the state Punjab, from payment of water supply and sewerage

    Charges .Arrears of water supply and sewerage charge of these units are also waived off.
