Had a check up and clean by a student and was very pleased with everything from start to finish.
Appointment was on time and not lengthy unlike the other reviews suggest.
The price is quite high for the quality of the service and the amount of time that you need to wait there. I’m
wandering if students get appropriate experience from this clinic. How many patients are you seeing ? I’ve
seen a student today that was working in disgust. If you don’t like to work with people is better to choose
another career.
The dental student I had was very kind, friendly, and made me feel at ease. I had been avoiding the dentist
for 6 years and needed 8 fillings in four installments and was comfortable going back each time. Prices are
lower since it's a teaching clinic but it may take longer as a supervisor might need to check their work, but I
always felt like I was in good hands.
This place is well worth your time even tho the wait can be harsh but the quality and price is definitely worth
it. I have been there multiple times and it has never let me down except the waiting mainly because there
were a lot of people in the clinic. You can sometimes get a student but not all of them can be ignorant or do
as they are told but you go there if you want to be more carefully of who you get, if you ring them when you
make an appointment ask them to try to get you a proper dentist.
Feels bad to rag on the kids, but this trainee clinic needs to be way cheaper than it is. The equipment is great
but the service just isn't. It should be a quarter of the price of a normal dentist (which has fully qualified
dentists) but it's not even close to that, in fact it's more expensive than many dentists. The students are,
obviously, new to this (and generally really nice) and they can be forgiven for making your gums bleed from
being clumsy or heavy-handed, and stuffing up the odd filling (both have happened to me here) but it needs
to be a LOT cheaper. It was also annoying to have a suspected root canal investigated and it end up costing
more than $250 just to be given a pencil drawing of my mouth and a quote for an operation charging more
than $2,200 (and that's without a crown). The endodontist looked about 17 (not that it should matter I
suppose) and it was a misdiagnosis in the end – I went to see another dentist and they told me to wait a
couple of weeks for the pain to possibly subside and it did. No root canal needed and new dentist (Dental1)
didn't charge me anything for the consultation. I want to help students improve too, it's important, but if the
clinic doesn't lower its prices, my advice would be shop around a bit more for a fully qualified dentist. Not
worth the pain to the teeth or the wallet.
