Report of Inaugural Ceremony of Electric Safety Week

Electric safety week-2017 is to be observed between, 11th and 17th January 2017. The
inauguration was held at the office of Electrical Supervisor MSEDCL, Miraj. Honorable Shri
Shekhar Gaikwad, Collector Sangli was chief guest of the function.

Mr. Ashish Shah, Electrical contractor, gave opening remarks sighting the need of electrical
safety and role of concerned in educating common users for attaining safety. He advised
contractors to re-examine sites where electrification is done by concerned around ten years ago
and verify safety of the work and advice the users for steps to be taken for safety of their wiring.
Honorable Shekhar Gaikwad took a review of the situation of safety of electric gadgets and
wiring and proposed a method for avoiding accidents on road at night due to poor vision. He
also appealed the experts and educational institutes to come forward to enhance the safety and
device the gadgets for safe usage of electric appliances. He also given assurance of full
assistance for the institutes coming forward to develop the applications. The program concluded
with vote of thanks by Mr. Kulkarni MSEDCL account staff.

An exhibition of various tools, and presentation on electric safety was organized at the site.
P.V.P.I.T., Budhgaon contributed to this exhibition by presenting models. PVPIT also organized
PPT making competition for students and the results will be declared at the end of safety week.

During the discussions of Dr. Kulkarni Satish S., Dean Second Shift,PVPIT, with Mr. Phadake
he assured that a program will be conducted at PVPIT for educating the students and staff on
electric safety. Mr. Phadake praised the efforts by management of PVPIT and Principal in
making the efforts to make the safety week a success.
