Challenges Today: Victory Tomorrow

Education tends to hone and develop a person holistically. Everyone have the right to a
proper education but not everyone are privileged to acquire a quality education.
A challenging period of an unforeseen event that affected all people, especially the
education system in the country. Since the outbreak of the Corona Virus pandemic, everything
changed in just a snap of a finger. The education system 3 months ago is way different from the
education system 3 months after. The Department of Education, Commission on Higher
Education and Alternative Learning System faces enormous challenges. The education remained
firm and true to its philosophy, thus big adjustments were conducted. As we enter new normal,
different intervention were proposed but was always denied for its inapplicability to the majority,
as to the face-to-face proposal. Other proposed mode of learning are modular, home school, and
online learning. This are not a perfect solution for the situation but it is the best for that the
government could. Online learning faces criticism considering capabilities of the student to have
an access to technology and the internet, especially in remote areas, and this still remain as
challenge. The question is, can the students really acquire a secured quality education that they
deserve? As with the innovativeness of the Education Departments in order to deliver and ensure
the quality education that the students deserves, the use of different platforms such as modules,
activity sheets, even radio, television and SMS, FB chat, Google Classroom were introduced to
the millions of students. This serve as key learning points for implementation in the bigger
education system.
While the future remains unknown, by working together to support empower the
education systems in our communities, we can help establish the structures the students need to
receive the quality education they deserve and bring stability in a time of uncertainty.
