The study aimed of "Perception of selected Grade 11 HUMSS students of

NINHS towards the modern educational trends as a Mode of Learning”. The covid-19
pandemic has forced everyone's hands to adapt to the changing times as far as learning
is concerned. With the issues and hopes caused by this setup? With the current status
of the country's new normal education, learn more about child hope Philippines.
Alternative learning system (ALS) Effort to keep bringing topnotch learning to children.

What is the New Normal in Education? It goes without saying that learning in today’s
new normal is a tough feat, not just for the students but for the teachers and the parents
as well. Thus, the need for open learning options is on the rise to help solve key issues
and keep giving topnotch learning amid the global health crisis. One key approach is to
adopt the ways of blended learning. This system uses both offline and online education
through tech.

One key approach is to adopt the ways of blended learning. This system uses both
offline and online education through technology to help students shift into the sudden
changes brought about by the health crisis, distance learning methods have become
part of the new normal in education. Further, the modern systems such as TV
broadcasts and online learning are currently being adopted in hopes to help address the
top education issues.

Recognizing that changing our education system takes time, we also encourage
students to look outside academic institutions to sharpen their skills and expand their
mindsets. A new group of learning organizations like General Assembly sit between our
legacy educational institutions and the workplace - helping to align those worlds. Using
these organizations to earn micro credentials is a great way to gain exposure to new
specialized skills not available to students in the traditional university environment.
These 'mini-degrees' or certifications can help prepare students for the jobs of the future
by pursuing skills and knowledge across disciplines and throughout their lives.

Today's education system is an outdated product of the industrial revolution. This

assembly line learning compartmentalizes the way students develop skills and does not
account for dynamic technological advancements and the professions of tomorrow that
will require much more integrative ways of thinking. Learning. Isn’t something that
happens just in school-but instead takes place "K through grey," as jobs change and
new skills are needed in the workplace? Curricula should emphasize teaching learners
how to work in a dynamic professional world where automation augments human
capabilities.

New technology and new learning models are exciting and offer previously unthinkable
possibilities to students, but they require constant IT support. As educational institutions
continue to jump on the bandwagon and adopt these digital transformation trends, we
must consider the current paradigm for technology instruction and move toward a team-
based approach. As student expectations increase, responsiveness to those needs
must increase as well.
There are so many digital transformation trends in education that are taking off in
pockets throughout the country. Clearly, there will be differences in the type of
technology being used in wealthier public school districts and private schools than in
disadvantaged ones. However, the changes we’re going to see in 2019 will pave a way
for making many of these advancements more universally acceptable. One of the most
amazing things to me about technology is that it’s making information and knowledge
accessible, regardless of how well someone is able to read it. This is true for voice-to-
text and text-to-voice transcription technologies that are especially helpful to students
with dyslexia and other learning issues. On the obvious end, it’s helping save money in
terms of energy and lighting usage. But in a more obscure way, it’s also helping to keep
schools and students safer and more connected. For instance, by using sensors to track
traffic throughout the campus, schools may be able to determine where security
features like lighting would benefit students and visitors. Using real-time communication
tools, they can share homework assignments with parents so they can stay on top of
less communicative children. These tools can also let parents know when their child is
absent from class. Using time-stamp technology, they can alert parents and students
when an assignment has gone missing. The bottom line is that the It has the chance to
keep all of us more connected, engaged, and on our toes. And that’s always a good
thing.

The importance of our topic is that to give knowledge to all students of senior high
school specially students who are in HUMSS. It is important to study this topic because
it can give us some knowledge on how student’s percept the educational mode of
learning now a days. Wisdom is knowledge rightly applied. Conducting research is all
about gaining wisdom. It can be an exciting part of a college student’s educational
journey be it a simple research paNer, thesis, or dissertation. (Joseph Marc Sagerman
2020) having an idea on how student’s percept the education, also give us idea of not
all of us are having a better understanding in our modules like there are some of our
schoolmates or classmates doesn’t know how to answer modules, so to make the
grades higher. They are going to copy others answer.

When a student encounters difficulty in understanding a particular topic, teachers,

myself included, form opinions based on our experience with that student. Our
perceptions, offer our views and seldom hesitate to make suggestions for overcoming
those difficulties.

However, over the years, we have learned that it often helps simply to ask the student
concerned why they think that they are struggling. Students' Perceptions of a Blended
Learning Environment to Promote Critical Thinking. Critical thinking is considered as
one of the indispensable skills that must be possessed by the citizens of modern
society, and its cultivation with blended learning has drawn much attention from
researchers and practitioners.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The main objectives of this study is to know the perceptions of the st

REVIEW OF THE LITERATURE

During this time of pandemic there’s a lot of changes about the Mode of Learning. When
Covid-19 came everyone forced to adapt the changing in our world especially the kind
of studies of many students, as long as the learning is concerned. Mode of Learning are
a set of guidelines that describe the methods humans use to acquire, process and
maintain knowledge. Individuals differ in how they learn most effectively. In this time, we
are still here during the pandemic so that different modes of learning are in vogue like
the distance or online learning and blended learning. COVID-19 pandemic has
disrupted teaching in a variety of institutions. It has tested the readiness of academic
institutions to deal with such abrupt crisis. Online learning has become the main method
of instruction during the pandemic in Philippines. Online education is useful during the
current pandemic. At the same time, its efficacy is less effective than face-to-face
learning and teaching. Students indicated that online learning challenges lie in adapting
to online education, especially for deaf and hard of hearing students, lack of interaction
and motivation, technical and Internet issues, data privacy, and security. They also
agreed on the advantages of online learning. The benefits were mainly self-learning, low
costs, convenience, and flexibility. Even though online learning works as a temporary
alternative due to COVID-19, it could not substitute face-to-face learning. The study
recommends that blended learning would help in providing a rigorous learning
environment over the period of time education systems undergone various changes
which result in various learning styles adopted by the learners. Advance technology
facilitates to modernize the way information is learnt and present to the people. In
earlier decade, students learn in traditional setting where the instructor-led approach
was used. Traditional classroom setting, provide access to the experts, involved
students in questions and discussion. They are exposed to social interaction which
provides them an opportunity to learn from others. In another case some students prefer
an individualized or less structured environment and need self-paced learning material.
Various learning styles of students need to be balanced by the educators which is the
biggest challenge. By adapting traditional and modern education systems and
techniques, it is possible for an educator to cope with emerging challenges in education.

There is always a teething trouble for the students when they come across various
concepts, principles and processes, as it is essential for them to understand, memorize,
rememorize and do it. Blended learning (BL) facilitates students to study and make
them capable of changing their attitude towards learning.

The terms “mixed mode instruction”, “hybrid learning” or “blended learning” in the
international literature are used as “hybrid learning” or “blended learning” in Turkish
literature. For the first time, blended learning appeared as a method in 1999 during the
introduction of the foundation called Interactive Learning Centers (computer skills
certificate and software training program in Atlanta) which lately turned to EPIC
Learning (Friesen, 2012). However, it was indicated that the emergence of blended
learning It can be noticed that numerous advantages of blended learning have been
listed in the literature such as enhancing learning opportunities, offering effective
learning experiences, facilitating learners’ access to the resources, motivating learners
through communication, collaboration and interaction, and supplementing the course
management activities through giving feedback and grading.

Blended learning is a combination of more than one method of delivery. By combining

different modes of delivery educator can optimize the learning outcome. Blended
learning entrenched the idea that learning is not just a one-time event rather it is a
continuous process where learner is involved. Blending always provides various
benefits over using any single learning delivery medium alone.

Blended Learning is an approach of meeting the challenges of tailor-made learning and

development according to the needs of individuals by assimilating the innovative and
technological advances. Blend of online learning with traditional learning offers
interaction and participation in best manner. It helps in bringing traditional physical
classes with elements of virtual education together.

There are different benefits of Blended Learning. Different people learn different things
in different ways, many people can learn so many things especially on using internet
with so many different learning styles to address, a blended learning solution makes
sense. For people who learn visually or through reading and ideally alone, online self-
paced video delivery would be the best mode. Social and aural learners would gain
most from live instructor-led classrooms. Meanwhile, hands-on practice from engaging
in applied learning projects would satisfy kinesthetic and logical learners. Using multiple
modalities dramatically reinforces engagement, learning and retention. Most people,
learning is improved by combining different activities alongside more passive study.
Ideally, these could include the “human” element of interaction, such as threaded
discussions, video conferencing and internal social media forums to share and compare
knowledge and to encourage and demonstrate the effective application of newly learned
skills to the workplace. Learners can control the pace of their learning. Students learn
best when they have some control over their learning. Choice reduces learner apathy,
relieves some of the stress of the learning process and motivates people to engage with
the material. Blended learning saves money. Reduces travel expenses like when face to
face you need to pay a vehicle to go to school unlike blended learning you can learning
in your house and you can also earn money and also Blended learning is modular and
scalable. When your modular you can scale what you need to to do and what time you
can do those activities unlike face to face class that you are hassle with time and
sometimes less effort.

Somehow Blended Learning has a advantages and also disadvantages. What are they?
Blended learning Advantages are teaching is less expensive to deliver, more affordable,
and saves time. Blended learning offers flexibility in terms of availability. In other words,
blended learning enables the student to access the materials from anywhere at any time
while enjoying the benefits of face-to-face support and instruction. And on the other
hand the disadvantages of blended learning are a blended learning model often
requires students to utilize technology outside of the classroom. Not every learner will
have equal access to the resources, which can make online learning difficult or even
impossible. Supporting individual learners. There is no catch-all approach to education.

Our generations are already and will continue to grow up in a world that’s a stark
reminder of how rapidly the human civilization has changed, a society and world where
smartphones and tablets are widespread, affordable, and replacing most computers and
laptops. The rapidly changing landscapes should be a marker to show that teaching
methods need to evolve to keep up with the times and incorporate integrated
technologies into the learning modal, these technologies aren’t going to go away, they’ll
continue to be integrated into our society and it’s time to embrace them for the
advantages they bring.
It has been acknowledged that students' perceptions and satisfaction are important for
determining the quality of blended learning environment positive attitudes toward the
blended learning environment, and the satisfaction could be attributed to features like
flexibility the students can think and provide they answers by themselves without the
guidelines of teachers as long as they have an access to an internet, convenience
students can make their output with less effort, reduced travel time because students
can learn in their houses, they don't need to go to school every day just to study and
reduce face-to-face interaction especially nowadays we're also in time of pandemic so
that we need to secure and be aware every day to be safe.

This study is more about blended learning it is a modern educational trends of mode of
learning. We’re in students said the benefits, advantage and disadvantages of blended
learning as a mode of learning especially now that we are in time of pandemic. Distance
and Blended Learning is almost similar but they have differences where we tackled in
this study. The perception of students especially Grade 11 HUMSS Students about this
kind of modern educational trend as mode of learning.

METHODOLOGY

If we were going to conduct a survey for the students we have gathered, we will present
simple and easy questions for them to answer. Such as what is your perspective about
the new learning modalities? Are you comfortable with the new learning method we
have been implementing for almost 2 years or not? Do you enjoy reading? Have you
been doing well in class? Does online classes makes it easy for you to learn?

We have gathered 12 students in our barangay that are going to be the respondents for
our survey. There 6 males and 6 females, a lot of them are still minors that are studying
with the new learning set-up.

Question:

Are you comfortably learning with the new learning method or not?

Have you been studying well?

Do you mostly spend your time reading?

Student, Does online class helps you learn conveniently? Yes or no?

As what we have observed many students are suffering in various kinds of mental
illness or even worse depression.

As of today, with the new learning set-up, we have observed that most of them had lost
and have been losing the motivation and inspiration to strive when it comes to studying
and learning. They are lowering their standard of living, accomplishments, and
enjoyment with their educational experiences.
The type of qualitative analysis that I would like to conduct is the Ethnographic
Research as it is focused on how societies and individuals thrive, through the use of
interviews and observation.
