- Vomiting should not be induced. Vomiting increases burns and may cause injuries to the
esophagus, throat, and mouth.

- Restlessness

Nursing Concept: Bacterial Meningitis Interventions


- Isolation for first 24 hours
- Decrease environmental stimuli
- Implement seizure precautions
- Initiate antimicrobial therapy
- Reduce increased intracranial pressure
- Control temperature
- Maintain hydration and ventilation
