Ocean Sparkle Limited (OSL) is a leading service provider in the Comprehensive Port Operations and
Management Sector in India. It covers the entire gamut of marine services at Ports from provision of harbor
towage operations to dredging, and offshore services like STS & FPSO operations.

Roles & Responsibilities:

I joined the ship as a TRAINEE MARINE ENGINEER, where I gained knowledge and experience under the
supervision of well qualified and experienced 2nd engineer and Chief. Engineer. My major responsibilities
were:-
• Operation and Maintenance of Machinery & Plant.
• Operation of valves and switches as needed.
• Maintaining Log Book, Daily Noon Report, Eng. room store Intend, and Other Registers
• Inspection and Maintenance of Personal Protective Equipment’s (PPEs), Fire Safety, and Life Saving
items.
• Responsible for Smooth operation of Sprinkler System, Portable Fire Pump & Fire-Fighting pump.
• Assisting Chief Eng. in issuing work permits
• Assuring that the work is done, following the safety measures and proper PPEs are
use while performing the work

Certifications:

• 5 days combined Safety courses (IOSH MS, FIRE SAFETY, RISK ASSESSMENT) from NIST, Kolkata on
basic health and safety issues and solutions, basic fire extinguishing techniques and Risks that an
employee is vulnerable to, while performing the job.
• 7 days FIRST-AID course from St. John Ambulance (Red Cross), Delhi Brigade on basic first-aid & CPR.

Industrial Training :

• 30days Vocational Training (Electrical Repair Shop) at Steal Authority of India Limited L(ISP). I was the
part of the team which used to respond to any electrical faults in plant machineries or administrative
buildings.
