CULTURE PAR CONCOURS: EXTEND YOUR FRENCH WORLD THROUGH ONLINE

COMPETITION

SUBJECT: Culture par concours: French online competition for students on 14th July, 2020, on the
occasion of French National Day (To be conducted online).

Dear Sir/ Madam,

As a collaborative effort to broaden the scope of French pedagogy, we would like to announce the
celebration of French National Day, on 14 July, 2020. We propose to hold competitions for students
on French language learning and culture for the said occasion on online basis.

At this juncture, we would like to furnish further details regarding our collaboration and contribution
towards the success of the said competition. Rachna Sagar will be pleased to felicitate each participant
with a participation e-certificate and winner-certificate for winner students from each segment. We
propose the following details regarding the competition:

Details of the Competition

The participants may select any one topic for the competition from each group: Débutant, Intermédiat
&Avancé.

GROUP I : Débutant

1. Les chansons d’amour

Singa French poemlike Frère Jacques, Au clair de la lune, etc.
Duration: Upto1 minute.

2. Monde de la littérature
Present a prose/passage from the work of any famous French personality (like Napoleon, Victor Hugo,
Fontaine, etc) and speak 1-2 lines describing that famous work.

3. Un concours de la danse
Present a dance on any traditional/folk French song.
Duration: 2-3 minutes.

GROUP II: Intermédiat

1. Les chansons d’Amour

Singa French Christmas carol, like Vive le vent, Douce Nuit, etc.
Duration: 1 – 2 minutes.

2. Monde de la littérature
 Present a prose/passage from the work of any famous French personality (like Balzac, Zola, etc) and
speak 1-2 lines describing that famous work.

3. Avec Paul Verlaine

Recite a French poem like Amour, Bonheur, Mes prisons, etc and (not less than 10 lines).

GROUP III: Avancé

1. Les chansons d’Amour

Duration: 1 – 2 minutes.

2. Monde de la littérature
Present a prose/passage from the work of any famous French personality (like Louise Colet, Sylvia Plath
etc) and speak 1-2 lines describing that famous work.

3. ÊtreAlexandre Dumas
Develop and tell a story in 7-10 lines based on 10 words given by the teacher from any famous works
of Alexandre Dumas. (Studentwillwrite the story, and also have to record and send an
uninterruptedvideoonlywhilenarrating the story).
Duration: 30 minutes (for story writing)
2-3 minutes (for story narration)

Note: If the link did not opened directly from here, kindly copy and paste the link in your Google

it.

Judgement process

1. Teachers only will judge the results and pick out the winners (Class and group wise 1st, 2nd and 3rd)

2. Teachers will share the video attachments of the winner students along with the student name, class,
section, school name with address, group and name of the competition, position in the competition).

Winners and Their Prizes

1. Participation e-certificates for the participants.
2. Winner e-certificates and French story e-book for winner students.
3. E-certificate and shield for teachers.

Note: -Select only three winners from each groupper class all sections combined.
(Débutant, Intermédiat, Avancé). For e.g.: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd from 5th class per group,
similarly for classes 6th, 7th and 8th.

It is requested that the details of participation of the competition be forwarded latest by 11th July, 2020,
upon the failure of which, it will be difficult for us to entertain any further inclusion.
