them through their grief. At the dedication, this couple was the first to or writing,

TORAH SCROLL AND SIGN LANGUAGE
At Dallas International University we graduated 24 students for
missionary service last summer. Recently, we received a Torah scroll to
be housed at the school and used in our classes. Our Hebrew faculty
gave a lecture on the tradition of Torah copying at one of our recent
chapel services. Also, DIU is about to open a Sign Language Initiative
dedicated to Bible translation in the more than 300 sign languages that
exist in the world. We hope to begin offering sign language linguistics
and translation classes this summer.

TRAINING THROUGH PARTNERSHIP

In August, Tonia became
the Manager of Internships
at Seed Company, a

organization. The worldwide
growth of Bible translation programs means that ministries like Seed
Co. are helping mother tongue translators to get the training they
need to translate accurately. It is exciting to meet these dedicated
believers around the world. They are the “John Wycliffes” of their
languages. Tonia is part of a team dedicated solely for the ongoing
training of these workers.

FAMILY FRONT
On the family side, we celebrated Emma‘s 21st birthday in
September. Nathan & Elizabeth and two of Emma’s
friends joined us for a birthday celebration. Emma is a
senior at Mary Hardin Baylor Univ. studying to be an
accountant. Meanwhile, Zachary is serving in Hawaii as an
officer on the Port Royal and Michael and Ruth Elaine
continue in Atlanta where they are working and getting
connected to their new city. They have been blessed to
be able to do some traveling too.
