To laying, patching, testing and termination of Fibre Optics Cable for Singtel Fibre Works.

3. Duration and Time of Work


The work process will take approximately 2-3 hours depending on the actual site
condition.

6. Work Method Statement


- Placing of warning signs at designated work areas.
- Fibre optics cable pulling using existing cable tray with usage of ladders
- Removing of metal jacket from fibre optics cable using cutters.
- Stripping of fibre optics cable in preparation for splicing
- Splicing & termination/patching of fibre optics cable
- Testing of installed fibre optics cable

7. Safe Work Procedures


a) Placing of warning signs at designated work areas.
- Site/Safety supervisor to ensure that workers put on reflective safety belt and
support lorry to turn on hazard light. Site/Safety supervisor to ensure
correct/proper sign put up to avoid confusion.
b) Fibre optics cable pulling using existing cable tray with usage of ladder.
- Site supervisor to ensure workers follows buddy system and that ladder is in good
working condition.

c) Removing of metal jacket from fibre optics cable using cutter


- Site supervisor to ensure that cutter used is in good working condition/of standard
and not handmade.

d) Stripping of fibre optics cable in preparation for splicing


- Site supervisor to ensure that stripper used is in good working condition/of
standard and not handmade.
e) Splicing & termination/patching of fibre optics cable
- Site supervisor to ensure that splicing equipment is in good condition with sockets
in good condition with standard cables.
f) Testing of installed fibre optics cable
- Site supervisor to ensure that testing equipment is in good condition with sockets
in good condition with standard cables.
