1. DESCRIPCION / DESCRIPTION:
Aislamiento acústico y térmico de lana de vidrio, de textura uniforme, de excelentes propiedades
acústicas, utilizado como bafle acústico en paredes y equipos presentado en láminas rígidas. El
material consiste de lana de vidrio aglomerada con resina termo-resistente, con o sin barrera de
vapor.

The product is a mottled light yellow, uniformly textured thermal and acoustical insulation blanket. It
consists of glass fibers bonded with a thermosetting resin. One of the surfaces could be faced with a
foil reinforced Kraft or polypropylene vapor barrier.

2. ALCANCE / SCOPE::

Esta especificación cubre los requisitos de aceptación del cliente para los productos serie 700.
This specification applies to customer acceptance requirements on SERIE 700.

REFERENCE DESCRIPTION
SERIE Unfaced board plane surface that shows a wrinkled appearance not recommended for decorativ
UNFACED SERIE702, SERIE703, SERIE704 and SERIE705, are related to different densities according to
acoustical, thermal and compressive resistance performance.
SERIE FACED Plane surface that shows a foil-reinforced-kraft (FRK) or an All Service Jacket (ASJ) finished tha
barrier, as a protective and reflective treatment for the surface, or as a sound transmission contr
system being applied one surface.
The references SERIE702, SERIE703, SERIE704 and SERIE705, are related to different densiti
goal on acoustical, thermal and compressive resistance performance. The FRK faced surface s
appearance.

3. CARACTERISTICAS DE USO Y APLICACION / END USE CHARACTERISTICS AND

LIMITATIONS:

- El producto ha sido diseñado para usar como aislamiento en exteriores (no expuesto al medio
ambiente) ofreciendo aislamiento térmico y acústico para equipos industriales, estructuras y ductos.
Es aplicado sobre pernos soldados o sobre ganchos fijos de seguridad.
The product is designed for use in thermal and acoustical external applications, not exposed to direct
environmental conditions. The product shows excellent performance when installed over industrial
equipment, structures and ducts. The product is designed to provide ease of installation and retention
of performance properties.The insulation may be held in place by mechanical devices or suitable
suspension system, and the joints should be carefully sealed to fix the vapor barrier.

- Las perforaciones o cualquier otro deterioro de la barrera de vapor, disminuyen considerablemente

el desempeño térmico y mecánico del sistema por lo tanto, cualquier daño en la barrera de vapor
debe ser reparado con cinta autoadhesiva para fabricación de ductos. Para áreas de prueba de vapor
aplique sellantes en juntas y parches para unir las diferentes areas.
The thermal and mechanical performance is affected when vapor barrier is damaged so any damage
over the vapor barrier must be repaired before use.

- La serie 705 con foil esta recomendada para áreas en donde el esfuerzo físico y la resistencia es

importante.Los tipos 703 y 704 con foil son recomendados en áreas donde el desempeño lo requiera.
The SERIE705 is recommended where mechanical strength is required. The SERIE703 and
SERIE704 are less resistant than SERIE705 and surface appearance could be different and less
uniform.

- Este producto esta diseñado en forma de láminas semi-rígidas, para ser usado como aislamiento
térmico en equipos que operen entre 60ºF (21ºC) hasta 450°F (232°C) como máximo instalando 4 in
(10.16 cm) de serie 703 y 3 in (7.62 cm) de serie 705 con varias capas de material sin laminar.El
aislamiento debe ser el suficiente que en la superficie del foil la temperatura no debe ser superior a
150ºF (65,5 ºC)
This product is designed in semi-rigid boards to be installed as thermal insulation with equipments
where operation temperature is 60ºF (21ºC) up to 450°F (232°C) . 4 in (10.16 cm) SERIE703 and 3 in
(7.62 cm) SERIE705 are installed in some layers, not laminated boards. The insulation shoul be
enough to provide a surface temperature below 150ºF (65,5 ºC).

- Este producto no genera ni acelera la corrosión sobre acero, hierro, cobre o aluminio. (ASTM C665,

This product do not accelerate corrosion when in contact with copper, steel or aluminum surfaces.

- Los aislamientos de lana de vidrio, sin terminados superficiales, son incombustibles. Las
características de quemado superficial del producto, han sido probadas de acuerdo al método ASTM
E84 con FS/SD=25/50.(ASTM E84, Surface Burning Characteristics Test).
The fiberglass insulation products themselves do not promote fire or ignite, when a finished material
has not been applied. Surface burning characteristics have been tested accordingly with ASTM E84
test method as FS/SD=25/50. (ASTM E84, Surface Burning Characteristics Test).

- Los productos con foil de aluminio puede mostrar en la superficie brillante alguna decoloración
(oxidación del foil/ o abrasión durante el envío) pero esta condición no afecta las propiedades de
desempeño del producto ni del foil.
The FRK faced products could lose color (foil darkening or abrasion) but this characteristic does not
affect their properties.

- El producto es en esencia inodoro y no contiene sustancias que promuevan la generación de

bacterias ni hongos y es resistente a los efectos de alta humedad bajo condiciones estándar de
temperatura y presión. Sin embargo debido al gran número de hongos que pueden estar en contacto
después de la instalación, y que de hecho las superficies pueden contaminarse de sustancias que
promuevan los hongos; a futuro no se garantiza la no aparición de los mismos.
The product is essentially odorless and do not contain substances that provide sustenance for mold or
bacteria growth. The product is resistant to humidity under normal temperature and pressure
conditions. Although, because it is known that fungi could be in contact with insulating surfaces after
installation, and because is a fact that this surfaces could be contaminated with any kind of
substances that promote fungi growing, is not guaranteed that fungi will not appear.

- El producto no debe ser expuesto a ambientes con condiciones anormales de humedad y

temperatura.
The product may be used in normal conditions of humidity and temperature.

- Debe realizarse a fin de mantener las condiciones de incombustibilidad del sistema un apropiado
mantenimiento con pintura.
PRECAUCIÓN:El contacto con las fibras de vidrio puede provocar irritación temporal. Usar mangas
largas, ropas flojas, respirador desechable, guantes y anteojos de protección durante la instalación.
Después del trabajo, lavar brazos y manos con agua tibia y jabón. Si ocurre irritación ocular, lavarlos
con abundante agua durante 15 minutos. Lavar las prendas de trabajo por separado.

- El producto no debe ser expuesto a ambientes con condiciones anormales de humedad y

temperatura.

PRECAUCION: El contacto con las fibras de vidrio puede provocar irritación temporal. Use mangas
largas, ropas flojas, respirador desechable, guantes y anteojos de protección durante la instalación.
Después del trabajo lave sus manos y brazos con agua tibia y jabón. Si ocurre irritación de los ojos,
lave con agua los ojos por unos 15 minutos. Lave las ropas de trabajo separadamente.
CAUTION : May cause irritation to skin, eyes and respiratory tract. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Wear long sleeved, loose fitting clothing, gloves and eye protection when handling and applying
material. Wash with soap and warm water after handling. Wash work clothes separately and wipe out
washer.

5. ESTANDAR VISUAL / VISUAL STANDARD:

La siguiente es una guía de aceptación del producto:

The following iitems are an acceptance guide for the product:

1. Color /color:
-El producto es de color amarillo. Son aceptados tonos ligeramente oscuros o ligeramente claros.
Variaciones en la tonalidad no afectan el desempeño térmico.
Product is yellow. Color can go from light yellow to dark yellow. Color variation does not affect
acoustical and thermal product performance.

2. Superficie del foil / foil surface:

-El foil debe estar completamente limpio y sin perforaciones. No deben presentarse bolsas de aire ni
evidencias de desprendimientos.
The vapor barrier is clean and free from holes. There are no airbags as non adhered zones.

- Los productos con foil de aluminio pueden mostrar en la superficie brillante alguna decoloración
(oxidación del foil/ o abrasión durante el envío) pero esta condición no afecta las propiedades de
desempeño del producto ni del foil.
The FRK faced products could lose color (foil darkening or abrasion) but this characteristic does not
affect their properties.

-El foil debe estar debidamente alineado con los bordes de la lámina, sinembargo desviaciones de +0,
-1/4", en el borde ancho, son aceptables.

3. Apariencia en superficie / Surface appearance::
-La superficies en general deben ser uniformes, sin parches duros (baquelita). Puede presentarse
ocasionalmente parche blanco y/o parche húmedo. La aglomeración de material molido en zonas del
rollo como bordes, en general no se acepta, sinembargo un parche ocasional dentro de una lámina no
daña su desempeño térmico, salvo que produzca la delaminación del producto. La superficie no tiene
irregularidades que puedan afectar la apariencia lisa final del producto laminado. Por ejemplo puede
presentarse ligeras roturas o declives que no afectan la aplicación y acabado del laminado.
The surface should be uniform and free from binder spots and unbonded areas, but they could be
accepted if they are not frequent. The surface has non irregularities which affect the faced smooth final
appearance. For example, minor cracking or shingling may occur but does not hinder the appearance
of the final faced product.

-No deben presentarse protuberancias ni hendiduras que superen 3 mm (1/8 in) de altura o
profundidad, ni más de 25 mm (1 in) de ancho o diámetro.
The surfaces has no flight marks exceeding 3mm (1/8") height and 25mm (1in) wide.

3. Empaque / Packing : Se debe asegurar una adecuada manipulación y almacenamiento.

Correctly handling and ware-housing must be provided.

7. EMPAQUE/ PACKAGING :

El empaque no es hermético y puede contener algunos orificios. Estos orificios no afectan la

compresión del empaque.
The packaging system is not watertight and may contain some holes that do not affect the packaging
performance.

Polyethylene shrink-package box, extreme open and auto adhesive label (not UL label). (For thickness 1” = 10
boards, 1 ½” = 7 boards y 2” = board).

When ordered: carton-box, 0.25 cm height (For thickness 1” = 10 boards, 1 ½” = 7 boards y 2” = board), or.
Carton-box 30.5 cm height ((*) For thickness 1” = 12 lam., 1 ½” = 8 lam. y 2” = 6 lam.).
Note: Ask for the best unit/package system in order to maximize space in the container.

8. REQUERIMIENTOS ESPECIALES/ SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

-Evitar que se rompa el empaque durante el bodegaje y transporte

-Avoid packaging damage in warehouse or during transportation..

-Almacenar el material estibado evitando se deterioren los estremos del rollo por trasiego o
humedad.
- Warehousing of material on pallets should avoid roll extrem damage from handling or humidity
conditions.

-Manejar un solo paquete a la vez.

- Handle one roll at the same time.

-Almacenar bajo techo, en condiciones normales de humedad y temperatura.

-Store under normal temperature and moisture conditions.
