REPORT ON: TREE PLANTATION DRIVE

DATE: September 8, 2018


VENUE: SCHOOL PREMISES AND NEARBY RESIDENTIAL SOCIETY,
SECTOR-9, DWARKA
CONDUCTED BY: ENVIRONMENT CLUB -“ANTHELIA”
ITL always strives to make the ITLeens sensitive and aware towards environment. With the noble
mission of making our city green and serene, ITL participated in Delhi Govt. Tree Plantation Drive on
Saturday 8, 2018. The motto behind this mega initiative was an effort to reduce air pollution in Delhi
which has reached alarming levels. The drive was organized under the patronage and guidance of Ms.
Sudha Acharya Principal, ITL Public School.

A group of enthusiastic ITLeens planted more than 60 saplings of herbal plants such as Curry Leaves
(murraya sp),Jatropa , Jamun ,Kalanchoe Pinnata, Bael, Neem, Basil, Ashwgandha etc. not only in the
“Sanjeevani Vatika i.e the herbal garden within the school premises but also energetically carried the drive
in the neighbouring area. The students planted saplings in the garden of a nearby residential society to
raise awareness and consciousness about environment among the masses The residents welcomed and
supported the endeavour wholeheartedly. Some plants were also gifted to the members of the RWA.

The drive was a huge success empowering students with substantial knowledge of environment and plants
and simultaneously enhancing their social skills.
