Basic Simulation Lab

Course Objective: The objective of this course is to develop programming ability among the students
to analyse and characterizing continuous and discrete signals & systems encountered in engineering.

List of Experiments: (Any 12 Experiments)

1. Operations on Matrices, Loops & Functions.

2. Generation of basic signals and Sequences.

3. Operations on signals and sequences.

4.Finding the Even and Odd parts of Signal/Sequence and Real and Imaginary parts of Signal.

5. Verification of Linearity and Time Invariance Properties of a given System.

6. Convolution between signals

7. Computation of Unit sample, Unit step and Sinusoidal responses of the given LTI system.

8. Correlation of signals and sequences.

9. Power Spectral Density of periodic signals.

10. Verification of sampling theorem

11. Finding the Fourier Transform of a given signal and plotting its magnitude and phase spectrum.

12. Laplace Transform

13. Z-Transform & Inverse Z-Transform

14. Checking a Random Process for Stationarity in Wide sense.

15. Verification of Weiner-Khinchine Relations.

COURSE OUTCOMES: Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:

1. Generate all classes of signals with MATLAB.

2. Analyse response of an LTI system for different inputs.

3. Compute magnitude and phase responses of a signal.

4. Verify Random Processes for stationarity.

5. Verify the relation between Autocorrelation and Power Spectral Density of a Random Processes.

Note:1. Modulation Property experiment will be covered in ADC Lab thus the experiment is removed.
2.DFT experiment will be covered in DSP Lab thus the experiment is removed.
3. Exp No 14 &15 Related to Random Processes are included.
