Dear Dr. Zanoria;

Salutations!

We would like to thank you for your support during the past academic year, and together we have
successfully published the first issue of the fifth volume of the publication. We have continued working on the second
issue that we would release as an electronic copy, due to difficulties with the printing and other logistics.

As the new academic year begins, The Caduceus, Official School Publication of CIM, also renews its thrust
to providing journalism and literary avenue to medical students of our institution. However, in the light of the recent
COVID-19 pandemic we would propose that the school publication would adopt the electronic format instead of the
traditional printed magazine for A.Y 2020-2021. The reasons for this is that there might be delay in the printing with
the publisher as well as the concern of the transport of the material during the community quarantine, which may
extend in to the middle of the academic year. We are also anticipating that mass gathering will still be limited in the
near future and distribution of the printed magazine might be hampered.

In line with this, we would like to appeal for the school publication fee to be reduced to Php 100.00 – 150.00,
instead of Php 400.00 since we would not be producing any printed copies. We would only be using our personal
equipment and limit the financial subsidy to other materials such as an internet provider.

We always have in the forefront of our minds that above all we are medical students and our academic
excellence is our priority. But at the same time, as socially responsible and socially active members of the CIM
community, we would like to help our fellow students in this difficult times. We are looking forward to working with
the administration this academic year.

Hoping for your kind consideration.

Sincerely,

Klarissa C. Concepcion
