Getting Started
- To get started, the only installation needed is the Mental Ray for 3ds Max 2018 installer
The plugin is free to use within 3ds Max for single frame or sequence renders.
- Purchase and installation of a Mental Ray for 3ds Max license is needed for rendering animations
outside of
- Installation of the Mental Ray Standalone is used for rendering .mi files from command line.
- Documentation on how to use the plugin and Mental Ray can be found in your installation
directory under docs.

- Please note that the name of the executable file to run the NVIDIA Professional Application
Center (NVPAC) is called IrayLM
