TITLE:

A WEDDING CEREMONY
In 2016, our summer vacation was just started. Our family was ready to go to village
due to my maternal uncle’s wedding. We had planned our whole tour a month ago and had
started the shopping for that purpose. We all were very happy as the days of our arrival were
coming closer and closer. We had many ideas to enjoy the wedding ceremony. We had
completed our shopping one week earlier to our arrival. After our preparation was completed, we
packed up our bags and were ready for arrival.

After offering Fajjar prayers, we started our journey towards our village. At late night, we
reached to our village and enjoy some warm welcome according to the tradition of our village.
We were served tea by them and then were given dinner. After taking rest the whole night, we
instantly started the preparation of wedding. I, with my cousin went to a nearby city to bring
some firecrackers, Shirley etc. for the purpose of firework and outvote. Side by side, my other
cousins started to make a stage at one side of the house. We managed a small sound system by
borrowing it from our neighbors’. The next day, the wedding ceremony started. In mehndi, there
were some arrangements for dholak and songs were sung by females. Unlike city, mehndi ended
nearly at 8 pm and lights were turned off at 9:30. As if late night chats were unfamiliar to all of
them. Early in morning, preparation started for the purpose of Barat. We arrived towards my
upcoming aunt’s home at 9 am. We reached there and started some fireworks. After the nikah,
eatables were served to all the guests. The whole function was recorded by camera man. We
reached our home back at 12 pm. This also was too quick for us but it was all done by the
tradition of the village. The next day, after breakfast the preparation for walima was started.
After the function of walima, the wedding ceremony comes to the end.

After staying there for another week after the wedding, we were ready to return to our
house in city. All of us wanted to live there some more days but as the vacations were ending so
that’s why we had to come back. We come home with many dry fruits and other eatables and
above all the love of all the peoples in our village. We reached to our home at late night and were
feeling sad, but after some days we came back to our daily routine and loved to remember those
days in our village. We also compared the life in village and city. In the end, I prefer village life
as a life of peace and above all free from all kinds of pollutions.
