Intercultural Education in an Age of Information and Disinformation

CALL FOR PROPOSALS


The recent outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has brought new challenges and rapid changes, which have
initiated extensive discussion on key social and educational concepts, such as, racism, equity, nationality, empathy,
diversity, and technology. These concepts form a basis for discourse on their role in intercultural education.
In this conference, we will discuss a variety of topics relevant to the new global situation, among other
intercultural topics.

The conference includes the following strands:


• Peace Education
• Cooperative and Collaborative Learning in Multicultural Settings
• Using Assistive Technology (AT) to Promote Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
in an Inclusive Learning Environment
• Language Awareness
• Educational Assessment Suitable for the Multicultural Era of the 21st Century
• History Education and Multiculturality
• Democracy and Mutual Life
• Technology to Promote Globalization & Intercultural Education
• Intercultural Competence: Policies and Innovative Practices
• Empathy & Gender
• Diverse Academia
• Ecohumanism and the Challenges of Cultural and Environmental Sustainability
• Religious Education, Immigration and Interreligious Education

 IMPORTANT DATES
Submission dates: July 15 – October 25, 2020
Notification of acceptance: December 15, 2020
 SUBMISSION PROCEDURE
A proposal needs to choose one of the above strands and one of the following formats:
• Lecture
• Online lecture
• Discussion Panel
• Workshop
• Poster
• Round Table
• Field Trip

 SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Before you submit your abstract, please register on the submission system, EasyChair.
The abstract should be written in English and include:
• 300-400 words (not including references)
• 3-5 keywords
• 3-5 bibliographical references
The best paper from each strand (chosen by the Strand Chair) will be published in a special issue of the academic
journal, Intercultural Education. There are also plans to publish the abstracts in conference proceedings for each
strand.

Kibbutzim College of Education is located in the heart of Tel Aviv, the economic and cultural heartbeat of the
