Learning Outcome Number(s): 32.4 Evaluate the impact of modern technology on Belizean society, for example by
discussing changes brought about by television, the internet, cell phones, and faster, cheaper transportation.

Students can list at least two technological devices.


Lesson Objective:

After class discussions, activities, and presentations students will be able to identify at least 2 modern technology
and state their impact on Belize Society.

Suggested Activities/Procedures:

Introductory Activities (2mins.):

Students will participate in a chain guessing game.

Students will choose a number (the range is the number of students in the class).

The students with odd numbers must name a technological device.


The students with even numbers will name what the device used for in modern times. (Devices is from the
previously stated number)

Developmental Activities/Procedures (11mins.):

A short discussion will be held about technology in the 1990’- early 2000’s vs the present

Students will be introduced to technological impacts for different elements in society.

Students will be selected to either state a pro or a con of an impact.

A short class discussion will be held based on what was presented.

Culmination & Closure (2 mins.):

Hot seat- students will be randomly called on to explain in their own words an element, its impact, and
technology used with this element.

Reflection:

My weakness in this lesson plan would most likely be my introductory activity. I could have asked students what they do
in their free time and then asked about technological devices used at home. This lesson should have involved more
technology eg using speakers, showing a video and so on. My strength in this lesson was constantly calling on students
and keeping them engaged in the lesson. Asking students their opinion on the information being taught and constantly
asking for feedback kept the students attentive; that way when called on, they were able to answer the questions.
