Fixed or mobile braces - which one to

choose?

Not completely happy with the look of your smile or having trouble biting? The solution is
orthodontic braces.
There are several types of braces but their main division is into a mobile that can be
taken out of the mouth and a fixed one that is in the mouth all the time.

Mobile braces
By mobile braces we mainly mean braces intended for children who still have baby
teeth. They are used to treat or prevent tooth irregularities .
The great advantage of mobile braces is that they can be extremely effective
because, in addition to the teeth, they can also move the jaws, and they can also be
made in various colors that children really like.
Disadvantage of mobile braces because it requires persistence, motivation and strict
adherence to instructions, which is sometimes common with small patients.

Transparent mobile device
A special type of mobile braces is called invisaligne or transparent
braces . Transparent mobile braces are among the newest types of orthodontic braces
that have gained great popularity among patients in a short time.
How does it look and work?
As the name suggests, it consists of transparent splints that change during
therapy. Based on the review and analysis of the model, a computer decides exactly
how many transparent mobile devices are needed for each person and how often they
need to be changed.
The advantages of this type of mobile device are its simplicity, painlessness and
practicality, they are aesthetically pleasing and very often it is not even noticed that a
person wears it.
The biggest advantage is the maintenance of oral hygiene during therapy. Namely,
this type of brace is not worn during meals and teeth are brushed normally, and the
transparent brace itself is very easy to wash. After eating and brushing your teeth, the
braces are simply put on your teeth.
The only drawback of the mobile brace is that it has to be worn 22 hours a day and
is only taken off during meals and brushing.

Fixed braces
The fixed brace consists of locks that are located on the tooth surface and are
interconnected by wire. They must be permanent teeth.
It can often be a continuation of therapy after a mobile brace for children when
permanent dentition is completed.
The advantages of the fixed brace are that it is an indication for all types of
irregularities because the mobile transparent brace cannot be worn in cases of large
irregularities, despite the common opinion it is not intended only for children, there are
no age limits and the price is lower than the transparent brace.
The disadvantages of fixed braces are that it is difficult to maintain oral hygiene due to
braces and wires because it takes more time and effort to brush your teeth.
