CEO Tsuga's Profile

Kazuhiro Tsuga officially took on the role of leading Panasonic Corporation at the end of June,
2012. Under his direction, the company is now moving forward to achieve its goal of making
further contributions to our customers and society, always focusing on people’s living under our
brand slogan of “A Better Life, A Better World.”

His major business career before he took on the leadership of the global company is as follows:

 From 2011, he was President of AVC Networks Company, the internal arm responsible
for Panasonic's audiovisual and information technology equipment business, and served
concurrently as Senior Managing Director, and Member of the Board.
 From 2008 to 2011, he led Panasonic's Automotive Systems Company as President while
serving as Managing Executive Officer of the corporation. During this time, he revived
Panasonic's automotive electronics business and laid the foundation for its expansion,
taking it in new directions, including devices and systems for more eco-responsible
vehicles.Before being named to those management posts, he had been engaged in
technology management as shown below:

 In 2004, he was appointed as Executive officer in charge of Digital Networking &


Software Technology, and in 2006, started to direct overseas R&D Centers and Digital
Network Strategic Planning Office.
 From 2001 to 2004, he directed the Advanced Appliances Development Center for
audiovisual technologies. In addition to his internal Panasonic responsibilities, Mr. Tsuga
also actively contributed to advancing major industry efforts, including the
standardization of the DVD and Blu-ray Disc formats, the formation of the Digital Living
Network Alliance and other initiatives.

Mr. Tsuga joined Panasonic, then known as Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd., in April
1979, upon graduation from Osaka University with a BS in Bioengineering. While with the
company, he had the opportunity to study in the United States, earning an MS in Computer
Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1986.
