1. Unconventional Warfare (1/1)

•  Ideological concepts
•  No defined Forces and objectives
•  Long duration
•  Military and paramilitary operations
•  Demonstration of might and power rather than reduction of enemy’s ability to fight
•  No rule (No Geneva convention)
•  Unpredictability and very imaginative
•  Multiplicity of targets : Persons, Infra-structures, Communication assets, …
•  Diversity of means : Biologic, Chemical, Explosive, …
•  Use of terrain as force multiplier : guerilla and urban environment
•  Media coverage oriented
•  Terrorism when operations are out of the law of war

Need of specific solutions from the Defence Industry

8. MBDA solutions on C4I against unconventional warfare (1/1)

•  Unconventional warfare is more and more demanding to enhance

system aspects of various sensors and weapons, with the aim to
achieve a more versatile coordinated protection during operations, as
well as to strength the security aspect

•  MBDA, as contracting authority for major Defence Systems, masters

the relevant C2 and related technologies

•  These competences allow to build local area coordination systems

capable to fuse sensors and effectors in the Military field, as well as to
support civilian Security Agencies

•  MBDA, very attentive on this segment, is creating modular C2

architectures in order to shape future systems according with these
emerging missions / threats
