JUDICIAL AFFIDAVIT
OF TERESITA TAN KESWANI
I, TERESITA TAN KESWANI, of legal age, Filipino Citizen,
married with residence and postal address at # 83. Interior, M. Roxas
Street, Barangay Tabora, Baguio City, Philippines, after having been
duly sworn to by ATTY. EDGAR M. AVILA and ATTY. GISSELLE ANNE
B. DALLORAN, with office address at 85 Session Road, Baguio City,
Philippines hereby depose an declare the following, fully conscious
that I do so under oath and under pain of false testimony or perjury:

1. QUESTION: Do you personally know GORNAM KAUR who


is the named petitioner in this case?
A: Yes

2. Q: How long have you known the Petitioner in this case?


A: More than fifteen (15) years.

3. Q: Do you know where she lives at present?


A: #25 Rimando Road, Baguio City, Philippines
4. Q: How did you know that?
A: I have visited her and her family in that address several
times.
5. Q: By the way, what is your Citizenship?
A: I am a Filipino Citizen

6. Q: Do you know the qualifications of petitioner in applying for


Philippine Citizenship?
A: Yes in the 15 years I know and observed her, I know that
he is of good moral character and believe in the principles
underlying Philippine Constitution. She conducted herself in a
proper and irreproachable manner during the entire period of
her residence in the Philippines in her relations with the
constituted government as well as with the community in which
she is living. She has mingled socially with the Filipinos,
traditions and ideals of the Filipinos.

7. Q: How do you know that?


A: I know this because she is a long time friend.
8. Q: How long had she stayed in the Philippines prior to the
filing of the Petition?
A: More than 44 years in Baguio City, Philippines.

9. Q: How do you know this?


A: I and my family have been invited to her birthday
celebrations at her residence in the Philippines was # 25
Rimando Road, Baguio City, Philippines.

9. Q: When and where was she born?


A: She was born on September 17, 1969 in Baguio City,
Philippines.

10. Q: Who are her parents? What are their nationalities?


How do you know them?
A: They are Spouses SH. CHANAN SINGH and AMAR
KAUR. Both citizens of India. I met them in their house
during family occasions.

11. Q: What is her highest educational attainment and


where if any did you obtain it? How do you know this?
A: She is a graduate of and Degree Holder being a
graduate at Saint Louis University, Baguio City and
Lyceum Northern Luzon, Urdaneta City where I obtained
B.S. PSYCHOLOGY (1991) and B.S. NURSING (2008)
respectively. She was my schoolmate at Saint Louis
University and I and my family were invited to the
celebrations of her graduation in their home.

12. Q: Do you know if she practiced Nursing?


A: She did not because she is not yet a Filipino

13. Q: What is her marital status?


A: She is married to RAJ KUMAR, and they stay with
their their children at #25 Rimando Road, Baguio City,
Philippines; again we were in their wedding anniversary
celebrations.

14. Q: How many children do they have?


A: They have three (3) children, all residing at #25
Rimando Road, baguio City, Philippines.

15. Q: What are their names? Where were they born?


A: KARAN KUMAR SOHAL, MANISHA RANI SOHAL, and
RAHUL KUMAR SOHAL all born in Baguio City, Philippines.
16. Q: What language or dialect does she speak or write?
A: She speaks and writes English, Tagalog, Hindi and
Sindhi.

17. Q: Where did she finish Elementary, High School and/or


College?
A: All in Baguio City, Philippines.

18. Q: In the years that you knew her was she active in your
community as well as school in attending Filipino Events,
whether curricular or extra-curricular?
A: Yes she was practically my neighbour so during
barangay events and church events in Don Bosco Church I
usually go with her. In SLU I was aware that she was in
the outreach programs of the SLU Psychology Department.

19. Q: What have you observed in her?


A: She is low key, simple, fun person. Very helpful to
her neighbors who are Filipinos. She is a devoted wife and
mother to her children.

20. Q: Do you know if he intends to permanently stay in the


Philippines with his family?
A: Yes because she was born here and her family is
here.

21. Q: Will you recommend to the Honorable Court that her


Petition be granted?
A: Yes I guarantee that she will be a good citizen and
asset to the country.

22. Q: What social occasions of the petitioner, did you usually


attend or were you invited to?
A: On several occasions like his birthday, her parents or
siblings birthday, New Year, thanksgiving parties as well as
barangay and church activities.

24. Q: Do you know for how long the petitioner resided in the
Philippines?
A: As far as I personally know, more or less 44 years.

25. Q: During all the times that you have known the
petitioner, what is your impression of her conduct?
A: I have personally known her to be good girl and never
had I known her to fight or get angry or even heard of any
adverse report concerning the character of the petitioner.

26. Q: Will you please tell us what are some Filipino


customs which the petitioner embraced?
A: Well I have observed that like any Filipino, he values
family such that the usual Filipino celebrations like fiestas,
Christmas, New Year are spent with them and Filipino
Friends.

27. Q: Will you please tell us why you know all these?
A: Because of my personal attachment with her and her
family, having been continuously and personally
acquainted with him.

28. Q: And how does Petitioner keep fit?


A: She is into basketball, walking, and other sports.

29. Q: Now in your opinion does the petitioner have all the
qualifications necessary to become a citizen of the Philippines?
A: Yes, sir.

30. Q: What beliefs have you observed in him?


A: She believes in the Rule of Law and I know he follows
all laws and regulations imposed by government in his personal
and professional undertakings. She even asked her daughter to
take medicine to be able to helo (help) Filipinos/

31. Q: What else?


A: She believes in government and a firm believer in
family

32. Q: What else?


A: She is a believer of good morals and follows it as her
way of life. She believes in peace and does not adhere to
violence.

33. Q: do you know if she has many Filipino friends?


A: She has plenty.

34. Q: Was she ever convicted by any court in Baguio or


elsewhere?
A: No, No criminal conviction whatsoever as shown by
her Clearances which I helped process.

35. Q: Do you know if she intends to permanently stay in


the Philippines?
A: Yes. She wants to stay here forever for her family.

36. Q: Why do you say that?


A: Her life is here in the Philippines. Her family, her
source of income and while she intends to visit India and
other countries once in a while, she will always return
home here, Philippines.

37. Q: Have you observed how he treats Filipinos regardless


of whether they are rich or not?
A: Yes, she does not differentiate people according to
their status in life. She is amiable, good Public Relations
and I’ve seen her help without fanfare or publicity.

38. Q: Do you think she will continue this traits even


after acquiring Citizenship here?
A: Yes. In the past she was a good woman and I know
that she would continue being a good woman in the future
when she becomes Filipino.

39. Q: Do you know if she has any vices?


Answer: In the long years I know her, she does not have
vices. He is quite religious.

40. Q: What would you like the court to do with the


Petition?
A:I plead that the Court to grant the same.
