1. What do you think is for you a best tradition that we have before (discussed by Group
3) in our history and how it shapes our culture at the present?

For me, the best tradition in our history discussed by the third group is the Filipino early
houses and the means of livelihood. It shapes our culture today by reminding us and
showing us the unique customs and traditions we have. By reminding us that we need
to learn how to preserve and love our culture to show the next generation that we have
a rich culture in our country, even though we have been conquered by different
countries and continue to develop and modernize. We can still see this tradition
practiced by our native tribe that they continued to protect from then until now. Our early
houses and means of livelihood show how our lifestyle changes as time pass, where
our houses change from the nipa hut to this stone or cement house. This tradition and
culture of ours show the evolution of our life and lifestyle from then until now.

2. Give me one experiences in your life that you are practicing your sense of
Nationalism?

The one experience in my life that shows or practices my sense of nationalism is being
a student. As a student, you will study or learn different subjects in your life, and one of
these subjects is history. We can show our love for our country, the Philippines, by
studying our country’s history, showing a willingness to learn about our country’s
culture, traditions, beliefs, and practices, respecting our national anthem, etc. We can
love and care for our country, the Philippines, by promoting and sharing with others
what we have. Our appreciation for our culture, traditions, beliefs, and customs helps us
and others to experience it and experiencing it allows us as Filipinos to remember what
makes us all truly citizens of this nation.
3. If we are not colonized by any country before, how can you describe our culture,
tradition and belief in our present time? Do you think we will be who we are right now at
the present?

Our culture, traditions, and beliefs would still be diverse if we were not conquered by
any other countries then. The Philippines is surrounded by many countries that have
diverse cultures, traditions, and beliefs. Even if the Spaniards, Americans, and
Japanese never colonized us, our neighboring countries will still try to do it, so the
Philippines has no way of getting out of being uncolonized. And the question is, do you
think we will be who we are right now at the present? I would say yes. Or maybe? There
were a lot of possibilities, whether they were positive or negative. But we can use or
make these traditions, cultures, and beliefs of us to improve our country in today’s
generation, not through idly dreaming of the what-ifs that would never occur. We can
still make our country, the Philippines, the best for itself by fully embracing our history
and letting it fuel our hearts towards betterment.
