And so I am Different
1.) These people may have different cultures, beliefs, behaviors, things, and other characteristics
shared but the cultural difference symbolizes where they come from and it serves as ways for them to
reflect their culture and skills.

2.) WE have the same culture in the way we celebrate Christmas with loved ones and putting up a
Christmas tree at home.

3.) No, because different cultures serve as ways for them to show their culture and skills.

4.) No, because there are countless traditions, beliefs, and cultural practices in any part of the world
that many people follow. We cannot deny that these myriad cultural practices, especially some of the
indigenous traditions that some people are practicing, are somehow inappropriate for others' beliefs
and practices. But still, we couldn't blame these practices because that is part of what they are and
who they are as human beings. Even if it is immoral and indecent to many, that is where they are used
to, we couldn't stop them. Our world is composed of many values, moral and virtuous that each
country in every continent follows.

5.) My own culture because every culture had their own differences when we base it on theirs. Which
we need to respect that and that's why we need to know what's the best on the two main sets like.
how can you respect others when don't start it on yourself.

6.) The answer should be yes, because as a society and culture runs from diversity. We have to be
a culture relativist, that before we concluded and give conveyor to other culture we must first have
the capacity of empathy to wear their shoe first.

Activity 2

Unity in Diversity:

Pagkakaisa sa kabila ng pagkakaiba-iba

Unity in diversity is based on the concept that individual or social differences in physical
characteristics, skin color, castle, creed, religious culture and etc., are not viewed as a conflict. Instead,
these differences were viewed as careers that enriched society and the nation as a whole. Unity is what
we call coming together and joining as one cohesive whole regardless of our backgrounds and cultures.
Unity allows us to achieve something not by ourselves, but with the power of, quite literally, hundreds
of people, all with something new to contribute. Everyone is different, their cultures, beliefs, and way
of life but we can Unite because we are able to find something in common in others, and see a little
part of ourselves in them. A common goal, a common identity all this is the cornerstone of cooperation
between people. if we can learn to study the culture of others and If we can learn to work with others
of different skills and thinking, then we can build on each other. Conflicting ideologies come up with
new ones, skills are shared, things we have always assumed as the truth are tested, and new
perspectives spring forth. The worlds we live in get much, much bigger, and the box we always defined
everything in opens to show us more. As for Singapore, Singapore 50 years ago was a tiny island, a
nation which was just beginning to take the first steps as an independent nation. It had no natural
resources, limited land, and people from all walks of life, from different countries with different
cultures, ideas, and backgrounds. Yet, Singapore has built itself into a self-sustainable modern
metropolis, with high standards of living and a harmonious society. They had virtually no resources at
all, but one. The greatest, yet frequently underestimated asset of all. They had the People, and their
hopes and dreams. The People, all from different backgrounds and races, united as one to work
towards a common goal: their desire for a better life in Singapore. They made Singapore into a multi-
racial, multicultural, diverse society where everyone could work together for the good of the nation,
and had an equal say. Unity allows us to accomplish great things that we could never do on our own. It
lets us combine our strengths to do something amazing. The greatest Unity, however, is not formed
because. It is formed despite.

What I Have Learned

1.) The topic was about Cultural Relativism and Ethnocentrism

2.) It Matters because I learned the meaning and difference of Cultural Relativism and Ethnocentrism

3.) I have now learned that everyone is capable of being united no matter how different our cultures
are

What I Can Do
1.) I disagree that one society can call another society as evil because a one man’s wrong deed does
not make his nation evil. It does not generalize the whole as evil just because a group is causing evil
doings. If terrorism lies in a certain country, that does not mean that everybody who resides in that
country is a terrorist. There will always be people, who are called the civilians, that hope for a brighter
and better environment for their children. Every man chooses his own way of living, either it would be
good or bad. To sum it up, a one man’s decision to do good or evil does not stand for everybody else’s
decision to do the same.

2.) I disagree because every culture has its own beliefs and aspects there is no superior or low in
cultures

3.) I agree, because saying that is a example of respect to elders but in other countries even if you
don't say “po” and ‘’opo’’ it's okay because they have a way of respecting their elders.

4.) I disagree, because the Mangyan tribe belongs to the indigenous groups that live in the mountains
and far from civilization but that does not mean they are not educated. We studied well in schools but
the Mangyan tribes didn’t but that doesn’t mean they don’t know anything, the government should
focus on this just by building small schools and teachers who are willing to help and teach the youth
who are part of the tribe of the Mangyan.

5.) I disagree, because that's only a mythical creatures and there are no studies yet that they are true.
There are still a lot of people who want to go to this place because of the beautiful tourist spots.

6.) I disagree, because the food of Dalagang Bukid, Salagubang, Palakang Bukid has been proven to be
healthy if it is cleaned well. Many people in different places like to taste the food of exotic foods.

7.) Ilocanos are not poor let’s say that maybe they are saving and they will choose to buy the cheap
ones that they also know can be used and they will also benefit in their daily lives.
