INDUSTRIAL ( INTERNSHIP )TRAINING / TOUR


 Civil Engineering - 1 Credit
 Electronics & Communication Engineering - 1 Credit
 Mechanical Engineering - 1 Credit
 Mechatronics Engineering - 1 Credit
 Computer Science and Engineering - 1 Credit
 Automobile Engineering - 1 Credit

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
1. The minimum duration of the training must be four weeks ( 28 days).
2. After getting the approval from the industry ,the students are requested to submit the details of the
industry like name of the industry, address and contact person details to the concerned faculty.
3. Students undergoing training are required to prepare one page Daily report during their training period
( Hand written) in the format given on page 5.
4. Daily report is to be signed by the Authority guiding the candidate in the organization on a daily basis.
5. Daily report is mandatory for students undergoing industrial training.
6. During the training period the students are requested to update the concerned faculty regarding the
work on weekly basis.
7. Students are requested to submit the hard copy of daily report along with the certificate issued by the
company and soft copy of industrial training report to the concerned faculty within 15 days of
commencement of odd semester classes.
8. During the 4th or 5th week of the odd semester the final viva-voce exam for industrial training will be
conducted.
9. During final viva-voce, the candidate has to present the hard copy of industrial training report to the
concerned faculty.
10. If the faculty evaluating Industrial training / Report feels that the training is not done as per the
academic requirements, he may direct the students to repeat training in the 6 th semester vacation (may
be in the same firm) and the evaluation during 7th semester of study.
11. Final Viva voce:
 Student should present his work in the form of a PPT for 20 minutes, to the satisfaction of the
examiners.
 Based on the presentation made by the student, the examiner may ask questions to the candidate

so as to evaluate him.
Guidelines for Supervision & Evaluation of Industrial Training / Tour:

 Supervision:
 As direct supervision is not practical, the dependence on the external supervisor is obvious. A
continuous email communication by the internal guide will help overcome the shortcoming. A
minimum of one email per week to the external supervisor could be made as a yardstick.

 Evaluation:
 The end-term evaluation will be conducted for the student, along with the internal guide and a
panel of examiners from within the department.

Suggested Marks distribution:


Industry:
 By the external supervisor : 50 Marks
Report:
 Completeness of the report with respect to the format provided : 20 Marks
 Genuineness of the report : 5 Marks
Total : 25 Marks
Viva voce and presentation:
 PPT presentation : 15 Marks
 Viva voce : 10 Marks
Total : 25 Marks

Grand Total : 100 Marks

Following are the basic guidelines for preparing the report of Industrial Training.
 Binding - Spiral binding only.
 Cover page design -Refer specimen copy on page 3.
 Color of the outer and inner cover – yellow.
 Report should be printed on only one side on the page..
 Paper size - A4 with laser printout.
 A Photostat copy of the training certificate issued by the company to be included in the report –
( Original certificate will be asked during evaluation.)
 Contents with page numbers, to be included.
 Students, who have undergone in groups at the same company during same period, are permitted to
submit the individual Photostat copy of the common report prepared by them.

INSTRUCTIONS TO BE FOLLOWED DURING THE PREPARATION OF INDUSTRIAL
TRAINING REPORT

1. Report must have the following contents:


 Front cover (as per the format, Yellow paper with black letters on it).
 Copy of the certificate issued by the company (01 page)
 Contents of the report (01 page)
 Acknowledgements, if any (01/02 pages).
 Introduction (05 pages)
 Objectives of the training (02 page)
 Work done during the training period (30 pages).
 Inference/Results (01 - 02 pages)
 References / Bibliography (01 page).
2. Number of pages in the report should be a minimum of 30 pages and maximum of 40 pages.
3. Report is to be spiral bound, with black letters on yellow paper used on Front cover.
4. Students are required to follow the following format while preparing the report.
 All text should be in New Times Roman font, 12 units height with 1.5 spacing, justified.
 Heading should be 14 units height, New Times Roman, Centered, Bold.
 Subheading should be 12 units height, New Times Roman, Left centered, Bold.
 Chapters to be numbered as 1, 2, 3,… etc.
 Subheading / subchapters to be numbered as 1.1, 1.2, 1.3,…2.1, 2.2, 2.3, ….3.1, 3.2, 3.3, . . .
etc.
 All Figures / Photographs / Tables should be numbered properly and appear at the place
where mentioned.
 For Figures / Photographs use Fig. No. 1, Fig. No. 2 … etc.
 For tables use Table No. 1, Table No. 2. … etc.

5. In case, student has not followed the format in preparing of the report or a report
contains the material directly downloaded from the internet, will be rejected and
he/she will be asked to prepare it again.
