You can bookmark these links to make it easier to check each morning. Note the date and the
number of the device.
2. Deactivate the device.
Devices should be deactivated the morning of the first day they are overdue.
Hot Spots
Find the correct serial number on the list provided by Sprint that matches the Hotspot Number.
Visit this site:
https://mobilebeacon.secure.force.com/onlineAllowBlock?
accountid=0011H00001NyXrw&contactid=0031H00002EA0FE
And request that the correct Serial Number be blocked. Request that items are marked as
“Overdue” instead of “Lost/Stolen.”
iPads
Visit this site:
https://login.jamfnow.com/
and log in with the following information:
User name: jstout@neuselibrary.org
Password: library1

Find the device in the list of iPads and select it, then click the three dots in the top right and
select “Enable Lost Mode.” Enter the owning library’s phone number and the following message:
Please return this device to:
<<Owning Branch Name>>
<<Owning Branch Address>>
Immediately to avoid further late fees. Late fees are charged at the rate of $5 for every day the
device is not returned.
Make sure you have finished activating Lost Mode before you log out. You should see an
indicator in the top left corner of the main page saying “Enabling Lost Mode.” Lost mode does
not fully activate until the iPad connects to the Internet so it may take some time.
Courtesy Calls
If it is the first, third, or seventh day the item is overdue, you will call the person at the number
listed on the library card (this should be updated by staff when the patron signs the contract)
and follow the following script:
Hello, this is __________ from Neuse Regional Libraries calling for ______________.
Our records show that you have one of our (Hot Spots and/or iPads) checked out and that it is
now overdue. We have deactivated the device and ask that you return it as soon as possible.
This is a courtesy call to remind you that the overdue fee on these devices is $5 for each day
they are not returned, so we encourage you to return them today to avoid any further late
fees. Please call us at 252-527-7066, Ext. 134 if you have any further questions.
Reactivation of Equipment
For Hotspots follow the same instructions as above for deactivation but select “Allow Data”
instead.
For iPads follow the same instructions to log in and use the controls under the “Lost Mode”
section at the top left of the page to stop Lost Mode.
Notification of Staff
If the item is more than 10 days overdue, email Justin to let him know.
