Everything you need to know!
WHY ARE WE OFFERING A VIRTUAL CAMP AND DELAYING ON-SITE CAMP?
We desire to safely and responsibly run a modified camp program for this summer. The purpose of the virtual camp is to
provide campers grades k-7th with a sense of community, consistency, the ability to safely make new friends, and give the
parents a needed break from educating/entertaining their children. We are working in conjunction with state and local
experts for an in-person camp operation at some point this summer and will use that information to help guide our on-going
decision making to safely offer a modified on-site program in conjunction with the virtual camp. Although we have altered
the fundamental structure of Funtasticamp, delivering the same authentic, professional, and empowering experiences that
you are used to receiving from our program is paramount.

WHAT IS FUNTASTICAMP.CONNECTED?
 Campers are a part of a daily virtual group, experience pre-recorded and live original streaming content with camp
staff from the Lake in the Hills Village Hall.
 Our staff is carefully selected; each has had an extensive interview, background check, reference checks, physical,
and drug screen before being hired. All team members participate in 20 + hours of training to include; safety,
leadership/supervision, youth development, being a role model, activity planning, and camp curriculum. All staff has
completed the DCFS Mandated Reporter certification course, Village policies, and camp program procedures.

WHAT DO I NEED TO CONNECT?

 A valid parent/guardian email address that is checked regularly.
 A laptop or a desktop will work best; however, a tablet will work as well. As a last resort, you could use a phone, but
we recommend a larger screen for a better experience.
 A working webcam, audio, microphone, and stable Wi-Fi.
 A comfortable and quiet work area. Some of our virtual camp sessions do include physical activity, so space to move
around is highly encouraged.

WHAT IS THE PARENT'S ROLE?

 Our staff is trained to guide the campers through the daily program without parental assistance. However, this
depends on the comfort of your child with technology and the ability to work independently. You are welcome to
stay with your child during the class if you feel it is necessary.
 The camp is offered for multiple grade levels to provide 4 hours of daily LIVE engagement with a parent nearby, but
not participating directly. The LIVE engagement portions are broken up throughout the camp day to allow off-screen
breaks and completion of offline camp activities.

HOW DO I ACCESS THE VIRTUAL CAMP & OTHER RESOURCES?

 Almost every traditional camp activity is adjusted to the virtual platform called: clickto.camp.
 Campers have exclusive one link access to our virtual camp that walks campers automatically from activity to activity
via a web browser.
 All activities are designed to take place in the home or backyard and mixed with plenty of off-screen challenges and
contests during the camp day.
 We even have a virtual camp store! Campers earn points to spend at our virtual camp store as a reward for
completing on and offline content.
 A Pinterest page just for virtual camp is made available for additional resources or instructions on projects each
week.
 A "FuntastiCAMP.Connected-box" is included with your virtual camp registration. The box contains items such as a
camp logo item, newsletter, schedule, FuntastiCamp surprises, and the necessary activity supplies to complete
projects. We also include a list of readily accessible supplies that might be needed in advance.
o Boxes are available for pick-up, household delivery (no-contact; residents only), or shipping. Lake in the Hills
resident boxes is delivered on the Friday before the registered week of camp.

WHAT FUNCTIONS WILL BE USED ON THE CLICKTO.CAMP PLATFORM?

 Campers will use functions such as "Raise Hand," "Mute/Unmute," "Chat," "Whiteboard," and "Polls." All features are
contained within the clickto.camp platform.
 Staff will operate the secure file and video sharing feature, a text/chat tool, create a poll. A whiteboard feature that
allows counselors to split the whiteboard, so each camper has their own.
 The campers must keep their video on for the duration of the live stream program portions to ensure they stay
concentrated and ease communication with our staff.

WHAT ABOUT SAFETY?

 Only enrolled campers can get access to the platform; this is not a public access platform.
 Camper's name is the only data that is kept in the virtual platform.
 A logistical feature of our platform is the split room option - which allows staff flexibility in supervison. The split
rooms can be used for games, for advanced campers, and for paying attention to campers who need it.
 Behavior and internet safety expectations are reviewed each morning with campers, and reminders are given
throughout the camp day.
 Content is produced and streamed from the Lake in the Hills Village Hall. Staff is not permitted to provide content
from their homes or other locations.
 Everything is planned, approved, and monitored by the Camp Supervisor.
 Staff and campers cannot change how their name is displayed in the activity rooms.
 The staff has the right to remove participants or to suspend a camper temporarily.
 The ratio maintained is a minimum of two staff in each break-out/activity room.
