    This research article examined the effect of high-tech swimsuits on swimming performance in top-level swimmers. It found that swimsuits designed to reduce drag and improve buoyancy allowed swimmers wearing them to achieve faster times than they did in regular swimsuits. The study analyzed race results from 2008 to 2009, when high-tech swimsuits first became widely used, finding significant improvements in performance that diminished again after the suits were banned.
