Mohamed Salah

Mohamed Salah was born in Basion, Gharbia, Egypt, on June 15, 1992. He grew up
in a small village called Najrij, about 150 kilometers from the capital city of Cairo. He is an
Egyptian footballer who currently plays as a right-winger from Liverpool club FC and
Egyptian national team. Salah also represented Egypt playing at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World
Cup and the 2012 Olympics. Salah also won the Swiss Super League in his first season with
Basel and was awarded the Best African Young Player of the Year in 2012.
It is not easy for Salah to achieve his success as now, many things must be passed
to become the world's top footballer. When he was a child not far from Salah's house, there
was a field where children played soccer. One day while playing football with his close
friend, Husein.
"Husein, what is your future dream?" Said Salah while juggling the ball.
"I want to be a soldier like my father, what do you want to become?"
"I want to be a professional footballer, but the current economic situation of my family
is not possible to finance football school,"
"hey don't give up like that, you have extraordinary skills in playing football, I'm sure
you can achieve it,"
"Hopefully like that," Salah said to end their conversation.
One day, when a soccer championship was held in his village, Salah played so
extraordinarily, that a talent scout from Cairo who saw him playing was interested in
recruiting him.
"I will recruit that magical boy if he develops his skills he will most likely become a
soccer star in the future." Said the talent scout.
Until finally Salah agreed to join the club called El-mokawloon. At that time Salah was
only 14 years old. It's not easy for Salah to play for the club, the El-mokawloon home base
located in Cairo, making Salah have to travel a distance of about 150 kilometers to go to
practice, he has to go through it as much as 5 times training a week.
"I know this is tiring, but to reach my dreams I will not give up," said Salah in his
heart.
His hard work finally paid off, in 2012 Salah was recruited by a Swiss European club,
FC Basel. This is where Mohamed Salah's early career in European football began.
"I am very happy and nervous at the same time, this is my first time playing in
Europe," Salah told his team-mates at FC Basel.
"Please help, friends," he continued.
Then his teammates answered, "Take it easy, we will help you adapt here."
 With FC Basel, Salah played very impressively and won many titles for the club, one
of which won the swiss super league in the 2012-2013 season. Then, in the following years,
Salah tried his luck by joining several other European clubs such as Chelsea, Fiorentina,
and AS Roma. But Salah's appearance is less impressive. Until finally Salah was bought by
a Liverpool club in 2017. Together with Liverpool Salah became one of the club's best
players, his achievements with Liverpool included being runner up for the English league in
the 2018-2019 season and becoming champions in the same season. Thanks to this result,
Salah was included in the ballon winner's nomination, the award for the best European
soccer player to compete with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
At a press conference, Salah was asked by a journalist.
"Salah, what do you want to say because it has become Europe's top football like this
now?" said the reporter.
"Alhamdulillah thanks to Allah, because without Allah I am nothing, then thank my
family, teammates, and coaches who have supported me to be like this," said Salah to
reporters.
Jurgen Klopp who is a Liverpool coach added, "Salah is a very extraordinary player,
with him in the team, makes us very confident when playing, Salah is an asset for the club."
Now Salah plays as an attacker on the right-wing, he plays as an attacker with Sadio
Mane and Roberto Firmino. Salah has the skill to dribble the ball and has good accuracy and
power in shooting the ball. Besides, Salah has speed in running in the field. Currently, Salah
has scored 68 goals in 96 appearances.
The presence of Mohamed Salah in Liverpool did not only affect the team's
performance but also made Salah's career more advanced in the world of football. A dream
that was once just a dream, has now become a reality to become a famous footballer. All
efforts made by Salah are not in vain, now he has become one of the soccer stars and side
by side with other famous soccer players like Ronaldo and Messi.
From Mohamed Salah's career, we can learn that whatever our dream is, we must
try, even though there are many obstacles, don't give up easily, because that effort will never
betray the results.
