IFAK

A second chance when!

your life is on the line.

Shawn McIntosh
309th Ohio Frontiersmen
An Individual First-Aid Kit, more commonly called "IFAK" or
"Blowout Kit", is a compact medic pack carried on each
member of a unit. It contains only items needed to treat a
single life threatening emergency.

The IFAK increases individual capabilities to render self-

aid/buddy-aid and provides interventions for two leading
causes of death in the battlefield: severe hemorrhage and
inadequate airway.
An IFAK is designed to be compact and lightweight! It is
typically packed into a 6"x6" pouch or smaller, and weighs as
little as 1-2lbs.

They are also designed to

be uniform in setup so you
team will know where to
find your supplies to treat
you, since each pack is
designed to save 1 life.
Your own.
The Frontiersmen IFAK
Since we are a nationwide network, and the possibility
of working with other units is likely in many situations,
it is imperative we have a uniform placement for our
kits as well. I need you to know exactly where to find
my tourniquet when I need it and seconds count.
This is the only medic kit that is required to be this
specific, but for a pack that saves your life when you
only have one chance to get it right, you don't want to
settle for anything less.
Condor Rip Away! This 6"x6" pouch is
