Observing/analysing metadata

Analysing histogram

Exercise 3:Image enhancements


Applying 3x3 Edge Detect

Creating a new 2D view to add the enhanced image


Comparing original image with 3x3 edge detect and 5x5 edge enhancement

Exercise 4: Generating a False Color Composite (FCC)


Adding satellite images of different bands(here, bands 3, 4 and 5) as input
and creating an output file location

Exercise 5: Geo-referencing and Geo-rectification
Multispectral -> Control points

Select Ground Control Points (GCP) on the image and perform Resampling

Re-project the reference file

Exercise 6: Classification of land cover
Supervised classification:
Open Raster -> Supervised -> Signature Editor

Collect training samples of each class


Merge training samples of one type into one class.
Classify -> Supervised.
Give output file location.

Perform an accuracy assessment: Raster -> Supervised -> Accuracy

Compare the classified image file with its corresponding Google Earth image
and fill in the Reference column accordingly with the correct class number.

Generate an accuracy report: Report -> Accuracy Report


Exercise 7: Cartography
Customizing a map by creating grids and graticule layers, applying visual
specifications and making cartographic edits.
