Death Penalty is Alright

Capital punishment also known as the death penalty, is a government-sactioned

whereby a person is put to death by the state a a punishment for a crime. Death penalty is the
ultimate punishment. There is no harsher punishment tha the death itself. Capital punishment
was legal here in the Philippines after independence and increased in use under the Ferdinand
Marcos regime. After the fall of Marcos, there was a moratorium on capital punishment from
1987 to 1999, followed by a resumption in executions from 1999 to 2006, and followed in turn
by a law ending the practice. Since it was already abolished and numerous crime happens in
our country, many people think that death penalty should be implement again as the main goal
of it is to decrease the numbers of abhorrent crimes. At this point, I agree that death penalty
should be restored and death penalty is alright.

Death penalty is alright because it can deters criminals from committing serious
crimes. Criminals will get scared of committing crimes because they will suffer such harsh
punishment. The fear of suffering will discouraged this potential criminals to commit crimes,
therefore the death penalty is the best deterrent when it comes to discouraging people from
carrying out the worst crimes. Maybe there is no concrete evidence ao accredible proof

It is is a cruel and unusual punishment, where basic standards of human dignity are compromised or undermined

It is what hardened criminals deserve. Criminals become bolder and careless to commit crimes
knowing that they will only be imprisoned that is why they are not scared of repeating heinous
crimes. Thus, these type of people should be put to death to project the majority.
