Warband Name: The Abyssal Order

Warcry: "Death and Despair, may their souls feed the Abyssal Ones!"
Description/Origin:
The city of Glimmerbane stood on the shores of Lake Enkyradon, a lake of souls within the realm of
Shyish in the age of Myth. A dour and leadenhearted people, they worshiped Nagash above all others in
the pantheon, hoping to gain favor and avoid his ire whilst living in his own realm. They found some
success in trade, becoming a city of some repute, even worthy of bearing a host of knights known as
the Order of the Ethereal Hand. As the days of the Age of Myth came to a close, and the Age of Chaos
began it's rise, whilst the pantheon shattered and Sigmar shut the gates of Azyr, Glimmerbane became
forgotten to all but the worshipers of the Dark Gods. Under siege, and finding their prayers
unanswered, the Order of the Ethereal Hand stood as the sole defenders of Glimmerbane. Riding out to
hold off any assaults against their gates, and managing to repel each attack which battered their walls,
they became viewed as heroes, amongst their ranks being the Grand Master of the Order, Asya Rohr
and her lieutenant, Milorad Heinemann.

Though they were treated as heroes within the city, both knew the failings of the order, as each sally
forth into the enemy always had losses, ones they could ill afford. Finally, it came to a head, with only
a hundred mounted knights remaining, Asya offered a solution. She revealed herself a Soulblight, one
of the midnight Aristocracy which plagued many of the living cities within Shyish, and offered the
blood kiss to all those under her command to grant them greater strength and no need for supplies. All
were stunned, before Milorad became the first to step forward, stopping before her as she bared her
fangs before impaling her on a dagger, finding her heart again and again with the dagger as he
whispered something known only to him and Asya's dying form.

As she lay dead, the only hope of survival for their city, the remainder of the Knights of the Ethereal
Hand began fighting. Those loyal to Asya, having been willing to take her gift to fight the enemy,
fighting those who found their loyalty to Milorad, who waded into the combat with his warhammer
until the only ones remaining were those loyal to him. When finished with their former brothers at
arms, it became obvious where their true loyalties lay, for the rode from their keep at the center of the
city having emblazoned glowing runes of the Dark Gods upon their armor, slaying any on the streets
and lighting fires among the closely packed homes.. As they did so, daemons manifested from the
flames to slay those that made it from their houses and avoided being run down by the remaining
knights leaving their trail of blood and fire as they made a dash for the gates. It is said the city's streets
ran red with blood, it's skies purple with warpfire, with the sounds of screams filling the air. At the end
of that bloody night, the gates had been flung open, the forces of chaos ignoring Milorad and his
knights as they showed emblazoned images of the gods on their armor, and the blood of innocents ran
deep down the shores of the lake, until all that remained was a black abyss of tormented, confused, and
grief-striken souls which could finding no rest even in death, as daemons plunged themselves into the
lake, consuming their essences while Milorad fought for dominance against the warband leader in the
burning ruins above. He came out victorious, renaming himself and his order to Khukhuz the Defiler
and the Abyssal Order respectively, "inducting" those who were now part of his warband in a manor
not unlike that which he was inducted into the original knighthood.
