Use the finite element results to determine the minimum required compressive strength for concrete and
design the non-flexural member based on linear stress analysis method. Assume that the wall is
isotopically reinforced with two layers of orthogonal N16 mesh, and determine the reinforcing ratio and
maximum spacing of the N16 bars in each element based on linear elastic stress analysis method.
Note: The adopted ductility demand for elements should not exceed 15o . Steel yield strength fy= 500
MPa. Note: Only consider the combination of actions related to dead G, Live Q and wind Wu load. The
wind load should be considered with both + and – signs.
Note: Please look at clause 2.2.3 and Table 2.2.3 in AS3600-2018 for the steel and concrete capacity
reduction factors, i.e. s and c.
