We've all played video games at some point or

the other in our lives. Some of us still enjoy them.
But have you ever looked back and wondered
what they taught us? Apart from the values of
competition and observation, take a look at 14 life
lessons you never saw coming from video
games.
1. Super Mario Bros

This game gave us a hard-hitting lesson we often
overlook. SMB taught us that the bigger you get,
the easier it is for your enemy to hit you. All those
running after success blindly, do take note!
2. Snake

Although Snake was one of those really

elementary games, it still had some valuable
insight for us. Think carefully. While playing
Snake, each time Snake grew a little longer, it
became more vulnerable to breaking down. Thus,
the bigger and faster way may not be the best
way to win.
3. Tetris

Again a game for beginners that prepared us for
the worst. It helped us understand how success
disappears but failures accumulate. And what
you learn from defeats should stay with you
forever.
4. Red Dead Redemption
This taught us a basic truth. No matter what,
family comes first.
5. Contra

The right kind of partnership can take you places.
Trust and friendship are big words that must be
understood right.
6. Need For Speed

And most other racing games taught us that
anything less than 100% concentration will result
in a sure shot loss.
7. Temple Run

This video game has taught us the most
contemporary life lesson yet. Just as in the game,
in life, we run all the way to collect coins and
spend these coins to run more efficiently. Isn’t
that a perfect description of the life we're all
living?
8. Hitman

If you are walking into something without knowing
anything about it, you are most likely to fail. Be
prepared.
9. Road Rash
Life is similar to a race. You need to slow down at
a corner. And if you do fall down, dust yourself
and start running again.
10. Grand Theft Auto

Life is full of surprises if you go your own way,
leaving behind the rat race.
11. Pokemon

Pokeman taught us the biggest lessons about
team work. Firstly, each of us is good at
something, and we just need to figure out what.
More importantly, it is easier to win as a team
since you can cover up each other’s weaknesses.
12. Defense Of The Ancients

You cannot win alone. Because more often than
not you will need people to assist you in
achieving your victories.
13. Resident Evil

Resident Evil taught us the value of saving
resources even if it cuts down on comfort. Very
important for our spend thrift generation.
14. Dark Souls

First and foremost, you invite your own battles. It
is all a matter of choice. More importantly, life
never gets easier. You only get better at it with a
mix of practice and learning from experiences.
And just in case you didn’t know already, there
are no cheat codes in life. #GreatestLifeLesson
