ACOUSTIC JAM

Guidelines

1. Each team shall form a band of five (5): singers and instrumentalists. Failure to follow
will subject to two (2) points deduction.

2. Each team representative shall follow the theme/genre that has been decided between the
organizing committee and the team committee heads. Only English, Bisaya and Tagalog
language of the song is allowed, it may be local or international. Medley is also allowed.
The selected two (2) to three (3) song piece must be Disney songs.

3. To avoid song repetition, a “First come, first serve” rule will be applied. Each team will
submit only 2-3 songs starting on March 7, 2020 at 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM and will end on
March 14, 2020 at 7:00 AM. Changing of songs will be allowed if a competing team
changes interest or it conflicts other competing teams on or before the deadline of
submission. On the same date, song piece material to be used is also to be submitted in a
flash drive with no other files saved in it. Flash drives containing virus will be subject to
a one (1) point deduction per judge.

4. Each team is allowed to use guitars (acoustic guitars), keyboard and beatbox only for
accompaniment purposes. Failure to follow this guideline is subject to two (2) points
deduction.

5. Total time covering performance and exit should not be less than five (5) minutes or
exceed to eight (8) minutes. The time starts as soon as the jam plays. The total time that
is in excess or in deficiency to the given time limit is subject to a two (2) points
deduction.

6. Deduction of points shall be made by the Chairman of the Board of Tabulators,


concurred with the members duly represented by the participating team and in
consultation with the Chairman of the Board of Judges.

7. The decision of the Board of Judges, once announced, is final and irrevocable.

Guidelines

1. Each team representative shall be composed of one (1) pair (not gender sensitive).

2. Each team representative shall follow the theme/genre that has been decided between the
organizing committee and the team committee heads. Only English, Bisaya and Tagalog
language of the song is allowed.

3. The selected song piece must be a known Official Soundtrack

4. To avoid song repetition, a “First come, first serve” rule will be applied. Each team will
submit only 2-3 songs starting on March 7, 2020 at 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM and will end on
March 14, 2020 at 7:00 AM. Changing of songs will be allowed if a competing team
changes interest or it conflicts other competing teams on or before the deadline of
submission.

5. Editing of the music piece is allowed except if the result is in a remix or medley.

6. Recording of live instruments to modify the music piece is allowed as long as it does not
violate the purpose of provision no. 4.

7. Total time covering performance, and exit should not be less than three (3) minutes or
exceed to five (5) minutes. The time starts as soon as the music plays. The total time that
is in excess or in deficiency to the given time limit is subject to a two (2) points
deduction. (Note: The actual time of the performance will be based on the submitted
music piece plus the added thirty (30) seconds.)

8. On the same date, song piece material to be used is also to be submitted in a flash drive
with no other files saved in it. Flash drives containing virus will be subject to a one (1)
point deduction per judge.

9. Proper costumes and/or attires is observed; it must not be obscene. For the female
performers, exposure of the chest area down to the diaphragm and the waist area down to
the thigh is not allowed. Protective under shorts should be worn. For the male
performers, exposure of the upper body and wearing of tight pants are not allowed.
Sleeveless tops are allowed for both male and female dancers. Wardrobe malfunction
during performance is an exemption to deduction of points.

10. Any violation of the above-mentioned guidelines shall be subject to a two (2) point
deduction from each judge per violation unless it has been stated so.
