EXTEMPORANEOUS SPEECH COMPETITION

Mechanics and Rules

1. The topic shall be given on the spot by the judges.


•The judges shall give topics prior to the start of the competition
related to the theme.

2. The contestants shall be given five (5) minutes to prepare and five (5) minutes
to deliver.

3. The contestants are not allowed to have any gadget.

4. A timer accessible to the contestant, judges and audience shall be provided.

5. The contest master is accountable to the sanctification of the competition.


•There will be a 1-point deduction for every 30-second overtime from
the respective judges’ total score before determining the rank of the
contestants.

6. The style of the delivery shall be conversational, oratorical or a combination of


both.
•Dramatic style is considered disqualified.

7. The contestant should wear white long sleeves polo and black pants/slacks.

8. Use of sound effects, microphones and props is disallowed.

9.After the deliberation of the members of the board of judges, the judges’
decision is final.

POWER DANCE

MECHANICS AND GUIDELINES

1. Participants must be bonafide BPED students of ZDSPGC.

2. Dance performance must be a minimum of five (5) minutes and maximum of


seven (7) minutes. A corresponding deduction of two (2) points in the final score
for the violation.

3. Ten (10) seconds pre-set is given each group. After such, group’s time
automatically starts.

4. Dance troupe must compose of a minimum of fifteen (15) and maximum of


twenty (20) members. A corresponding deduction of two (2) points for violation.

MUSIC

1. Groups must submit their final music to Jade Wenceslao a day before the
competition. (November 8, 2023)

2. No music will be accepted on the time of the competition.

ATTIRES AND PROPS

1. Props may be allowed in the performance as long as it doesn’t destroy the


stage set up or flooring or those that may harm other groups’ performance.

2. Daring dress is greatly discouraged. A 2 points deduction to the final score for
this violation.

3. Using of party poppers, liquid, fire and the like and any pyrotechnic material is
prohibited. In addition, second degree lifting is also not allowed. A 3 points
deduction to the final score for this violation.

Hip Hop Dance

1. All participants should be bonafide BPED students ZDSPGC

2. There must be a minimum of 8 members and maximum of 12 members

2. The duration of the dance should be a minimum of 3 minutes and maximum of


five minutes including the entrance and exit.

3. Groups must submit their final music to Jade Wenceslao a day before the
competition. (November 9, 2023)

4. Any kind of hip hop dance is allowed.

5. Not adherence to the above mechanics is a deduction of 3 points from the total
score.

6. Daring dress is greatly discouraged. A 2 points deduction to the final score for
this violation.

BPED Promotional Video

1. Participants should be bonafide BPED students of ZDSPGC.

2. Produce a short video that would highlights the BPED Department.

3. The video must contain the activities from day 1 to day 2.

4. The length of the video should not be shorter than two (2) minutes and should
not exceed three (3) minutes.

5. The video shall be submitted before the LGBTQ+ coronation night (day 2).

6. Video will be judged based on the following criteria;

Composition 30%

Relevance to the theme 30%

Creativity 20%

Originality 20%

Painting

1. Participants must be bonafide BPED students of ZDSPGC- Pagadian.

2. This will be a competition of every year level from BPED department.

3. The artwork must be in accordance to the theme "BPED: Building Potentials


through Exploring Diversity

4. The competition will start after the opening and it will be submitted before
lunch. Each painters must stay or do their painting at the right side of the stage.

5. Artwork will be judge based on the following criteria;

Relevance to the theme 30%

Quality of artistic composition 40%

Originality and overall impact 30%

Solo Singing Contest

1. All participants must be bonafide BPED students of ZDSPGC-Pagadian.

2. There must be only one male or female participant from each year level.

3. The participant may choose the song of their choice, either English or Filipino.

4. All genre is allowed as long as it doesn’t contain bad words.

5. The participant is given a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 minutes for their


performance.

6. Performing beyond the allotted time will result in a 10 points deduction.

7. Accompaniment should only be in minus one.

8. Appropriate and decent attire must be worn.

9. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.

Duet Singing Contest

1. All participants must be bonafide BPED students of ZDSPGC-Pagadian.

2.There must be only one male and female participant from each year level.

BPED Amazing Race

1. All participants must be bonafide BPED students of ZDSPGC-Pagadian.

2. Each year level should be composed of 10 participants.

3. The team should be at the assembly area (Capitol Gym) 10 minutes before the

race will begin.

4. Each team must have their Team Chants performed before and after every

stations.

5. Each team must have their banner and it must be protected from other teams

or competitors at all cost.

6. No pushing or any movements that will harm your teammates.

7. The station is composed of 8 stations with two (2) assigned facis/facilitators in

each station. The facilitators will give the instructions of each stations and they

are the only ones to be followed and no other else.

8. The facis will give a flag to each team if the challenges in every stations is

being completed.

9. The team that will be caught up cheating will be DISQUALIFIED.

10. The first team to finish clearing up all the station will be declared as the

winner.

II. SPECIFIC RULES/FORMAT


1. A player is a bonifide ZDSPGC students enrolled in the first semester of
the current school year.

2. There shall be separate men and women's division.

3. A team shall be composed (1) coach, four (4) players only.

4. The tournament shall be conducted in two (2) categories: The men and
women's categories.

5. Should there be four (4) entries only, SINGLE ROUND ROBIN


SYSTEM (SRRS) shall apply to determine the chanpion.

6. The team which accumulated the highest number of game points at the
end of the tournament wins the championship. A tie break system in the
team standing after the last round shall be broken by the rule on the tie.

III. BOARD ASSIGNMENT AND COLOR


1. Before the start of the tournament, the team coach must submit to the
ARBITER the team's line-up with the respective board assignment of
players.

2.No player shall play in a board lower than his/her assigned board. An
alternate player can only play in board #4.

3.Teams named first in the pairing shall play white in board 1 and 3, and

4.black on board 2 and 4.

IV. SCORING SYSTEM/TIE-BREAK SYSTEM


1. Won game is one (1) point; Drawn game is point; and loss is 0 point.

2. The total number of game points earned over four (4) boards shall
contitute the team's score for a particular round.

3. A tie in the team awards/ ranking shall be broken as follows:

Scores 2.5 points or more shall get four (4) match points.
Tie -Score shall two (2) match points and
Loses-Scoring 1.5 below will get one (1) match point.
3.3. By the best individual results starting on board one (1). If the tie still exist, by
the result on board 2 and down to the last board until ties has been broken.

4.1. For a simple tie - The win-over-the other rule shall apply.
4.2. By the Median-Bucholz-Sonnenborn Berger.
4.3. By the most number of wins.
4.4. By most number of wins with black piece.
V. The RATE OF PLAY/DEFAULTS/ RULES
1. The rate of play shall be 30 minutes per player to finish the game.
2. Defaulting time shall be thirty (30) minutes after the announcement of starting
game.
3. You have to move the piece you touch. Touch move
4. Learn to use the chess clock. When in doubt, ask the arbiter.
5. The decision of the arbiter on the point of laws is always Final.
6. All FIDE Laws of chess is applicable.
BPEd Quiz Bee Guidelines and Mechanics

1.This quiz is open to all bona fide BPEd students (non-graduates) of


Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Government College - Pagadian Campus. Each
year level has to send in 5 delegates.
2.This quiz bee will not be a team match but an individual match. Each
contestant must bring with them an illustration board and a chalk or a white board
and a white board marker.
3.The questions will cover general knowledge, such as science, math, history, an
d English, among others. For a multiple choice question, the contestant is
required to write the letter of his/her answer. In case it is a close-ended question,
the contestant is required to write the exact word. Wrong spelling will not be
accepted.
4.There will be three rounds: (1) easy, (2) average, and (3) difficult.
5.There will be 20 questions for easy and average round. Only 10 questions will
be provided for difficult round.
6.Once a contestant gives a correct answer, he/she will be awarded with the
following points accordingly:
Easy round – 1 point per correct answer
Average round – 3 points per correct answer
Difficult round – 5 points per correct answer
Tie breaker round – 1 point
7.This quiz bee will use elimination method. After the easy round, only the top 10
will proceed to the next round. After the average round, only the top 5 will
continue to the next round. In case of a tie, an additional question will be asked
to break the tie.
8.The contestant with the highest cumulative score will be declared the
champion. The next two highest scores will be declared runner-ups, second and
third, respectively.
9.A quiz master, timer and scorer will be assigned to facilitate the contest.
10.No coaching is allowed. Cheating is strictly prohibited. Once caught, the
contestant will be automatically disqualified.
DEBATE GUIDELINES

1.There must be at most 3 members in a team for every year level.


2.The following will be the format for the debate:
a.Two teams will be assigned. One team will create an affirmative presentation
(Pro) while the other team will be responsible for creating a negative or opposing
presentation (Con). Involvement by each student is required meaning once a
team member has already spoken, he/she can only speak again once the other
members has already spoken.
b.To determine who will be the Pro and Con, there will be a toss coin. After
choosing which side they will be, the topic/motion will then be given. A 3-minute
interval will then follow.
c.After the 3-minute interval, the Pro team will be given another 3 minutes to
present their introductory statement.
d.After the Pro team’s statement, the Con team will then give their rebuttal as
well as their introductory statement. The Con team only has 3 minutes to give
their rebuttal and their introductory statement.
e.After the Con team has given their introductory statement, there will be 3
rounds for cross examination. Each speaker only has 3 minutes to do so.
f.After the arguments and rebuttals, a 3-minute interval will commence to prepare
each team for their closing statements. Each side will only have 3-minutes to
present their closing statements.
3.After the closing statements were given, the adjudicators will be the ones to
decide who will win.
4.A “single elimination format” will be used to determine the champion for this
competition.
LGBTQ+ NIGHT

1. All the participants must be a bonafide BPED student of ZDSPGC - Pagadian


Campus.

2. Participants will fight in Production Number, Runway Model (Wearing Drag


Queen Attire), and Casual Interview Category.

3. The participants will be divided in a certain group and they will proceed into a
lip sync battle.

4. After the lip sync battle, the candidate with the highest accumulated score
from Production Number until the Lip sync battle in the group will advance into
the final round.

5. The final round will be a Question and Answer portion (back to zero).

5. Judges' decision is final and irrevocable.

Mobile Legends

1. All participants must be bonafide BPED students of ZDSPGC-Pagadian.

2. Each team should be composed of 6 players (male and female) regardless of

their rank.

3. The team shall provide their own internet connection.

4. There will be one referee in every team.

5. The game is double elimination.


BADMINTON GUIDELINES

1.Players should be a bonafide BPED student of ZDSPGC-Pagadian Campus for


this semester A.Y. 2023-2024. (Note: Those BPED students who graduated last
graduation but still have a course left for this Academic Year are qualified to join
the said event.

2.The game will be a Team Play and a Double elimination game. Each team
should produce players for Doubles (Men and Women Division) and Mix
Doubles.

3.During the game, players should wear proper attire.

4.A 5-minute grace period is given to the player after they are called for the start
of their game. If the player is still not around after the given grace period, the
opponent will win by default.

5.The first one to score 35 will be proclaimed as winner. (Note: The change court
score is 18.)

6.Unethical manner/s during the entire event will lead to the disqualification of the
convicted player.
