Rules and Regulations for inter-college competitions

General Rules

I. Pre – registration in all categories is mandatory.


II. Participants are required to report at least 30 minutes prior to their
performance.
III. The order of performances will be allotted by the organizing team.
IV. Organizers will have the right to share shortlisted photographs and
videos on their website, app and social media pages.
V. All participants will be given a certification of participation
VI. Trophies will be awarded to winners
VII. The decision of the judges will be final and binding upon all.
VIII. Refreshments will be provided to all participants.

1. Solo Dance (Classical)

Rules & Regulations:

1. Participants can pick and perform any dance form - Kathak, Kathakali,
Bharat Natyam, Manipuri, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam, Odissi, Sattriya etc.
2. Each participant will be given 3 minutes to perform.
3. Points will be given on aspects such as Taal, Technique, Rhythm,
Abhinaya or Expression, Attire, Footwork and overall presentation.
2. Group Dance Choreography (Western/ Bollywood)

Rules & Regulations:

1. Participants are allowed to use props.


2. Each group will be given 3 minutes to perform and should consist of not
more than 6 participants
3. Each college can send in only one team.
4. Points will be given on aspects such as creativity, Technique, Rhythm,
Expression, Attire, Footwork and overall presentation.

3. Singing (Classical– Solo)

Rules & Regulations:

1. Each performance should not be longer than 3 minutes.


2. Participants are allowed to an instrument accompaniment of their
choice during their performance.
3. Points will be given on aspects such as like Taal, Rhythm, and overall
presentation.

4. Singing Group (Western)

Rules & Regulations:

1. Each performance should not be longer than 3 minutes and each group
should comprise of no more than 5 participants.
2. Each college can send in only one team.
3. Participants are allowed to an instrument accompaniment of their
choice during their performance.
4. Points will be given on aspects such as like Taal, Rhythm, and overall
presentation.
5. Yoga (Group)

Rules & Regulations:

1. Each group will be given 3 minutes to perform


2. Each college can send in only one team.
3. Each team should comprise of 5 students
4. Duration of time to maintain each Asana will be thirty (30) seconds for
all age groups.
5. Each Asana will be judged on the basis of 4 variables i.e.:
I. Stability
II. Efficiency in movement
III. Grace of the movement
IV. Degree of difficulty
V. Correct posture
5. The decision of the judges will be final and binding upon all.

6. Band Competition

Rules & Regulations:

1. Each college can send in only one entry and a maximum of 5


participants.
2. Each performance should not exceed duration of 5 minutes.
3. Props can be used, but all equipment must be cleared from the stage
after each performance.

7. Fashion Show

Rules & Regulations:

1. Each team should comprise a minimum of5 and maximum of 8


students
2. Each college can send in only one team.
3. Each team will be allotted around 6 minutes for their performance.
4. Props can be used, but all equipment and props must be cleared
from the stage after each performance.
5. A green room facility will be provided; however, participants are
advised to be ready and arrive at the venue promptly.

8. Poster Making

Rules & Regulations:

1. There is no limit on participation from each school


2. Participants will be given 1 hour to make the poster.
3. Poster must be made around the given theme for the competition.
4. Drawing sheets will be given at the venue.
5. Participants are required to bring their own colours.
6. Each participant can make only one poster.
7. Poster can be made using pencil, crayon, watercolour, oil paint, etc.
8. Posters must be made at the venue. Photographs, wires, 3D objects,
print-outs won’t be acceptable.

9. Folk Dance (Group)

Rules & Regulations:

1. Each college can send in only one team.


2. Each team should comprise of 10 students
3. Points will be given on aspects such as coordination, creativity,
Rhythm, Expression, Attire and overall presentation.
10. Street play

Rules & Regulations:

1. Each team should comprise of 3-8 students


2. Each college can send in only one team.
3. Each performance should not be longer than 7 minutes.
4. Green room facility will be provided, however participants are advised
to be ready and reach the venue.

11. Debate

Rules & Regulations:

1. Medium of expression may be Hindi or English.


2. Each speaker shall get 2.5 minutes to speak (in motion or against the
motion)

12. Quiz

Rules & Regulations:

1. Each college can send only one team of two people.


2. The participants shall not be allowed to use mobile or other electronic
instruments during the quiz time.
3. The questions shall be in the form of multiple choice, true/false
statement, specific answer question etc.
4. Audience prompts are not permitted.
5. The specific rules regarding evaluation system and the type of rounds
shall be announced by the judges before the commencement of the
competition.
13. Reel making for HCFI (one team can have a maximumof 2 people)

Rules & Regulations

1. The participanting team has to prepare a short video/reel on the 30 th

2. The durationof the reel should be 30-60 seconds.
3. The reel should include the events onboth days.
4. Reels will be evaluated on the basis of (I) Impact, (II) Composition ((III)
Suitability (IV) Framing (V) Creativity
