BENCH YELLS COMPETITION

MECHANICS/GUIDELINES
1. All five departments are allowed (1) official entry. The participant must be a bonifide
student of their department
2. Each participating team must have a minimum of eighty (80) and a maximum of one
hundred (100) performers including the props men. Participants can be all males, all
females, or mixed. Any excess beyond the maximum number of participants will merit a
5 points deduction from the total score equivalent to the total excess number of
participants.
3. Each team is given minimum of five (5) minutes and a maximum of seven (7) minutes
performance. In addition, each team is given another one (2-3) minute preparation.
Teams who go beyond or short- based on the time provided will merit a 5 points
deduction. Every exceeding second will get a one (1) point deduction from the total score
of each judge if this would be violated.
4. The group has the privilege to organize its dance concepts in a freestyle manner.
5. The choreographer, assistant choreographer and other members who will choreograph
the steps must be a bonafide student of the department. Hiring of choreographers from
outside the school will automatically disqualify the entry.
6. Kinaadman cheer is required at any time during the performance. Loudness and
clearness of the words are encouraged. Use of abusive and profane language will be
automatically disqualified.
7. Filipino, or English and regional dialect is allowed. No voice-overs or words may be
recorded to make teams’ vocal projection sound louder.
8. Use of maximum of two (2) drums is only allowed. Other music accompaniments are
NOT allowed.
9. Only Flags, Banners, sticks, signs, pompoms or any hand worm props are allowed. Using
of sets is not allowed (sets, backdrops, tables etc.) The riser will be provided by the
organizer.
10. Wearable articles that may impede vision or deemed potentially injurious to the wearer
or teams are not permitted.
11. Use of pyrotechnics, party poppers, sharp objects, fire, and the like are strictly not
allowed and shall be grounds for disqualification.
12. Stunts and any acrobatic,/gymnastics elements, or aerial skills are strictly prohibited.
13. The winners will be based on the highest scores awarded by the judges based on the
judging criteria. Each team’s final score is calculated and ranked to determine the
champion, 1st runner up and 2nd runner up, respectively.
14. Incase of a tie, the chair shall determine the winner by breaking the tie.
15. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
